  1. Good spot there mac_shinobi. If the other user account (I assume he means windows) can do it it suggests dodgy user firewall stuff. I'd try turning the firewall OFF on your account to see if it works and then work backwards.
  2. OK, that eliminates the client. I've just tried that IP and it works so that eliminates the server. It leaves really your PC/OS and the Router/ISP connection. - Do you have another PC on your network you can try and see if this works therefore eliminating the Router/ISP from the mix.
  3. For the sake of this test it's not really a big deal which one you pick. Ones come to mind such as SmartFTP, & FlashFXP. Filezilla would be my weapon of choice though so once we know where the issue lies we'll be in a position to sort it out. Tell us what happens when you try as per my last post.
  4. Eliminate Filezilla by trying another FTP Client. What happens when you try and connect, does it not list directories or not connect at all? If the former it is most likely PASSIVE mode not being on instead of active.
  5. - It was something my team fought hard to introduce and once it was done it worked out quite well. (We had laptop trolleys in our three specialist departments and since the specialist budgets paid for them they looked after them!)
  6. Classroom policing, booking in / out of laptops to individual users from teachers. Charging repairs to departments responsible. Buying laptops that don't cost a fortune for new keyboards for when it does happen.
  7. Have a good day.
  8. Hi Mike, Welcome to Edugeek. Best bet here's a reinstall. It's possible you could uninstall the RM Gina if you could get into the laptop itself and you'd be left with a vanilla logon screen but it would still be covered in RM stuff and probably some stuff licensed to the school you're not likely to be entitled to. That's my opinion anyway, there comes a time when you have to start afresh
  9. Alex, The link shows 2003 compatibility.
  10. Hi there, Suspect the plugin could be disabled mate if you're not seeing the icon in the systray. (Have a look at your Manage your addons in IE). Worth also remembering to make sure your Audio Driver is set properly to the Sun Ray RDP one.
  11. I know I fixed a camera to push the images up to the FTP but Ric/you gave me the pass for this (the FTP password).
  12. Software Restriction Policy that might be stopping it running on the windows end. It's up to you whether you enable it for all or some, there's a few ways to do that too but you need to be fairly comfortable with shell scripting to identify the Sun Ray and act accordingly. I'd start with getting it working first.
  13. Yeah, wherever you're calling uttsc from you can add -F all and -M all to force them on but they default this way anyway... worth looking in your logs to see why stuff isn't firing, could it be a SRP on your windows box? Have a look here for help on the usb side.
  14. Hi Nick, Which version of the Sun Ray software have you installed? uttsc (the windows connector) defaults the Flash & Multimedia Redirections to on but you can control this with arguments such as -M all/off or -F all/off. (Look at man uttsc) USB Redirection will be greyed out for Terminal Services because it isn't supported, it is however possible to present a memory stick via a redirected directory on the solaris side similar to how rdesktop on linux works to a TS. Finally, which version of Windows Server are you using as the MMR stuff only works on 2003 at the moment. More info on the installation of the MMR & extras if needed is available at How to Install the Sun Ray Connector Windows Components - Sun Ray Connector for Windows OS, 2.2 - wikis.sun.com Hope this helps, Kim
  15. Have some positive rep to make up for it then +Rep.

    A proud Dad!

    Fantastic, good show.
  17. Giles & team are great to work with; and with a pub literally backing onto the campus some 25 paces from the IT office (via the secret exit!) there's a mean chicken curry and pint of lager available at lunchtime. (Not that we did that too much......)
  18. My interpretation here is your using the sims CLIENT on this server (biostore) and the CLIENT won't work. Do you have a valid connect.ini and does your user have permissions to access the shared drive and/or MSSQL database?
  19. I'm pretty confident it will still work, if not ring synetrix they should be used to it by now I think I explained it to them (why northants-ecl.gov.uk) exists back then.
  20. Going back a long way but ... http://nemismail.northants-ecl.gov.uk/exchange might still work. As for sending, I used to set it up to use EMBC's SMTP servers with authentication (using an EMBC email account) and it worked fine outside of school, not sure if it's changed or not. In our case our head/bursar had both an EMBC (scoobydoo.northants.sch.uk) and northants-ecl address so it was quite straight forward. Hope this helps. Kim
  21. Generally mine too, again not down to the design.
  22. For a while yes, I detested the change but now I've grown to forget them.
  23. Good show John!
  24. Mail PassView: Password recovery for Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Mail, and more... ?
  25. No worries, I tend to make the migration over from A>B then spoof my host file to point http://www.thedomain.com over to the new host to test all of the modules out. (php version differences often count!) Better to be safe than sorry and then keep a copy for a while afterwards just incase!
