I'm the other way with Kyocera, had a couple of issues with drivers which put me off a little but when I eventually got them working, they seemed fine. Brother printers - Love them we have different mono versions and colour versions and staff have no issues with them.

We will be commissioning a new Dell R720 server to replace our current ageing SIMS server and have a question about where to put the SIMS SQL Database. The Server is going to have 2x200GB (Raid 1) SSD drives for the OS and 4x300GB (Raid TBD) 15K SAS drives. Do I put the database on the SSDs or do I put them on the 15K SAS Drives? What are people thoughts on this? Thanks Mark

Ive been asked by a member of staff what software is available to make Digital Publishing Productions (Interactive Publication of sorts) Since they will be using Macs, my first thought was Ibook Author......... but that falls down on the export side of things...... By chance would this be the Intel HD 4000 series? We did the same on our test machine, rebuilt several times, driver installed fine....... come to build a batch of machines and the driver refuses to install during the build process. As this was only for 30 computers I decided to install manually and fix the issue at a later date.

This may seem like a stupid question but what is the biggest mailbox size Exchange 2010 can handle? Our Finance Director wants to stop using her PST file and import everything into Exchange so she can access all emails from any location. The PST size is currently 4Gb and combined with her current 2 gb mailbox would make a very large mailbox! She needs to keep all emails as part of audit/evidence trail. Thanks in advance.

@CPLTD many thank for that Not sure on the model of Netgear switch as yet. We are having a new 6th form block built and as part of the tender we having that model AP installed so it integrated into our existing ruckus system. We originally asked the builders to put a single power socket next to the data sockets for the APs incase there were issues and were having second thoughts about needed power sockets. I think we will stick with the additional power sockets just incase we do have POE issues. Thanks for all the replies :-)

@IrritableTech what switches do you currently use with your APs?

We have a number of these APs dotted around the school currently and all working from Mains power. From September we will be having more installed in a new additional school block and plan to use these on POE via a POE capable netgear switch. Can people let me know if they have had any issues with these APs running on POE. many thanks

What........ eh?........ yes 8 O Clock I only go on rare occasions to the "big" multi screen cinema now, as not only are the tickets high but also the food and drink! I recently found a local single screen cinema which reminds me of how cinema use to be (including the decor...... yes the cinema is that old lol) The price for two adult is the same price as a single adult at the multi screen cinema plus it has the added bonus of not being as loud.

Couple of things.... UAC needs to be turned off The default password on the laptop needs to be blank. Have you tried using the ip address instead of the server name?

I'm after some help with The Dude. I've got it running on an old PC and it seems to be working well, apart from the network diagram bit. I am running VLANs across the network and I am trying to map our switches/servers which are on VLAN 1 (10.10.252.0/22) The scan goes well and only picks up devices on that range/subnet. When the software draws the map I am getting network segment nodes with (10.10.0.0/16) in between my core switch and the edge devices and have no idea why. We use to have a flat network using that range (10.10.0.0/16) but when we moved to vlans all IP ranges changed including the management IP addresses on the switches. Any any idea?

In work, tried to keep my foot elevated as much as possible, but possible in this job. Anyway...... managed to bang by toe almost swore loudly..... so decided to email line manager to ask to take this afternoon off and tomorrow as annual leave as gout flared up and ideally need to rest it as much as possible. LM came to see me and told me I can't take them as annual leave as she have been told by our external HR people that is skews/masks people illness records. Im not happy as I pointed out that surely we are entitled to do what we want with out annual leave..... but guess not :/

Thanks for the replies guys and gals Im currently sat at my desk with my foot on another chair plus I have 2 large bottles of water to drink. I think a problem for me is that I don't drink enough water/fluids which will have change. Think while Im in pain and change bend my toes I think it going to be taxis or lift of the gf. I didn't feel this much pain when I broke my foot :/ like nephilim said, just got to grit teeth and get on with it

Strange topic this morning, went to docs couple of weeks ago and told I had gout. Yesterday it flared up and this morning is no better - so..... I wondered if anyone on here suffers from gout and how they cope when it flares up? Any hints, tips etc for coping and keeping it at bay would be very much appreciated. Cheers
