I wouldn't know I'm currently by the pool in Italy - we (that the royal we and I should say my technician) are replacing all teacher desktops (50ish). As far as I know all done and he is just doing sorting odds and ends. If any problems I he will deal with them as when I get back I'm having an ear operation. I am really thankful for his hard work while I'm busy sunning it up on my honeymoon.

Could you not create a VM with Virtualbox with MySQL installed and save changes to the users home folder?

Busy moving desks/computers etc and it a tad warm.... thankfully a quick trip to the server room now and then helps :-)

yep me being impatient - SCCM handled everything so the update puzzle is solved..... Just need to figure out the lack of space issue.

It the WSUS role running from SCCM (Think SCCM install parts or all of WSUS to managed downloads - although I could be wrong) - I'm using SCCM to manage all updates At the moment - showing issues but that down to the lack of space on Drive C (got about 4GB free when should be at least 100GB) Need to see how and where the space has gone and try and free some up.....

I'm having a bit of an issue why SCCM where I found my WSUS update folder missing as I wondered why updates not being appliedd. No idea how long it had been missing as it not on backups going back 30 day..... I recreated the folder and removed and added the WSUS role and all seemed fine again or so I thought. Rebuild a station and checked for updates and none being applied I've noticed that my OS partition (500GB) has become full so I'm thinking I've not point WSUS to the correct drive... so I've checked and I have. The other puzzling thing is that SCCM content is showing on drive C even though I have the nosms file on the root of drive C: So do I spend time trying to unpick my SCCM or do I reinstall on a new VM using the original SCCM details including Site Code. (and possible restore the database) What do the SCCM gurus think?

Looking to get a complete wireless survey done to make sure we have our access points position in the best possible locations. I recently changed our website from Centos/Joomla to Ubuntu/Wordpress and every likes to new website etc... I've been looking at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/ to see how I can improve various aspect of the website. One of the things flagged was response time at 2.4 seconds..... to me that seems fine but looking at various things Litespeed is supposed to work up to 6 times quicker with php pages etc.... So..... have anyone swapped Apache to Litespeed via commandline as all I can find are reference to CPanel. Alternately - should I spin up another VM and install from scratch with Litespeed and move the website over. Any tips welcomed

Must admit I hadn't thought about that - the Dell is smaller by approx. 5cm in width and depth looking at the specs.

Looking at replacing all the Classroom Teacher desktops (Approx 60 in total) using @ICTDirect_Dave - need to wait until September for budget unless we can get before hand and have an invoice dated 1st Sept I'm torn between the Dell OptiPlex 790 or HP Elite 8200 (both i3 versions) The specs are very similar! Ive used the OptiPlex at a previous school and had no issues. Currently using some HP Elite 8200 (i5 version) and again had no issues with them. So.... which would you opt for and why?

Yep, can long on to OWA and the rest of the network ok I reset the password to Password1 and user names are either 8 characters or less. It a real head scratcher.

Changed the passwords so I could see what was happening plus I wanted to make sure the passwords hadn't expired. Other students within the same AD Groups and OU are able to login without any issues. I'm scratching my head on this as I cannot see any reason why they shouldn't be able to log into HAP

Ok so now I have 2 users who get the error message "Either your Username or Password was Incorrect or you do not have permission to access this site." I've checked everything I can think of and I've even installed HAP on a new VM to test and I get the same on that install. I've tried: Changing passwords, Moving OU, removing and adding from Student AD Group Any help welcomed :-)

The Casio would be an ideal replacement but I also need - SVideo connection (Science have Microscopes with SVideo connections and use them!) Video - They connect DVD/Video players I would hear nothing but moaning if I replaced projectors without these connectors - some staff do not like change!! Just bought a Benq MX528 for £258 as a test as I need to replace a handful of projectors in the summer. The only annoying thing I am having is the need to move the ceiling pole so the image fits the smartboards correctly - needless to say the image don't fit until I get time to move the pole.
