Definitely - Maus and you could try a Chris Ware such as Jimmy Corrigan or Building Stories - I got Building Stories last Xmas - very impressed - you can read the bits in any order and it still makes sense, though the themes are "grown up" and melancholic (imho)

Lots of Libraries hace signed up to a service delivering free magazines through the Zinio site - you register via your Library card then make a separate Zinio account that is tied to the email you've told them - then you can download and read lots of mags - quite handy if you're a bit skint like me and fancy a look at Computer Shopper or Micro Mart or even Beautiful Kitchens or Classic Rock. My wife has got a Nook simple (great value at about £30) - it can show any epub type file - you can grab loads off Gutenburg etc - or convert using Calibre If you're feeling flush - you could get her a simple for the books and a Nook HD+ for everything else - its a nifty bit of kit for the price

Just looking at a friend's new (to them) laptop today and saw that it was taking around 30 seconds to open each new program. Its a standalone machine connected to broadband - anyone got any ideas on what might be causing it - it was a rebuilt Toshiba with W7 on it - I'm sure I've seen something similar before, but can't remember what it was. Its pretty snappy once the program is open. Cheers
