I've had a slight issue with the management software, whereby if I try connecting to the terminal, the terminal itself would throw a wobbly and die. Re-installing the software fixed this though, but was rather strange. I'm trying to figure a way, short of writing a script in ruby or something, that would enable me to roll out settings files to a number of the machines simultaneously.

You're letting him walk over you matey. Keep a diary of all the things you do during the day. A schedule can be unrealistic for ICT support, but do note down what you spend your time doing. Then you have actual figures for where your time is spent. And as has been suggested, get a priority system going. You're only meant to do a certain number of hours work each day. If there's not enough time to do the work then they need more support staff - it's really that simple. And make sure you take your breaks, as not only do they give you breathing space, but it's also that little bit of power over him ("I'll get to it after my allotted break time" etc.) Good luck.

You should check out Three. They have a unlimited data plan as an addon for £5 per month. And by unlimited I mean it's probably 1GB.

I've got a Mitsubishi Colt 1.5 DI-D. 0-60 in under ten seconds and can do close enough to 600 miles on one 48 litre tank. To put it into perspective I can drive to Aberdeen from Cardiff for about £50. And that's cruising at 80mph the whole way, too.

We use ABControl here. It's a fixed cost for the management software with unlimited clients. Has lots of other little useful features, too.

I need to add a web extension when setting up a piece of software, however I'm pretty sure that IIS 5 doesn't support them? Just wondering if there's any way around my little conundrum?

Never mind. Sussed it in the end. Turns out that Rep is short for "Techie guy in charge of this category."

I'm playing about with it now, but have hit a stumbling block when trying to create categories. There's a selection field called Primary Rep, and I need to pick something in it, along with category title, before it will save the entry to the database. Trouble is, there's nothing in the Primary Rep field for me to select. I've checked the corresponding database entry, and it's for field called 'rep_id'. I can't find any documentation to explain what this field does, nor am I receiving an answer on the helpdesk's forum. Really frustrating, as I want to roll it out before too long.

Do only certain pupils have access to the suite? What about giving everyone access with auto-logon to save problems creating users. That way if you add a NAS server to the switch you could simply create user accounts on that.

They're pretty much the same architecture. Pentium Dual Core processors just have less on-board cache.

Pentium4 chips weren't dual core at all, just some trickery to fool the operating system. The C2D is based on the Pentium M, which is in turn engineered in Israel and based on the Pentium 3, fact fans!

That's a very nice specification. The graphics card is a little on the weak side for playing the latest games, but apart from that it's ace.
