Very true. I hate plasters, they just tend to fall off when you least expect it! I'm on 2012, Version 1710. Could this be a central problem? I thought it was likely to be another Windows 10 glitch!

Hi all I have been trying to deploy some applications to our Windows 10 devices. Half will complete successfully and the other half will come up with "another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." I have resolved the issue on a single devices by restarting the Windows installer service. The backed up SCCM deployments then fly though and its all sorted. Is before I potentially cause myself a big issue. Should I just put a script out or GPO to start the service on start up or will I live to regret it? Any ideas or other solutions welcome!

Thanks for that. It looks like somthing is overwriting our DNS records and had reported the _VLMCS back to the old server. I must have my head full of first day back stuff to have missed that!

Hi all, I have an issue where some of my 1803 Enterprise clients won't activate to our KMS server and say that they cannot find the KMS server. I tried re activating my laptop on the KMS server and this works fine. The KMS server is also up and running. I did a DNS flush on the affected device and tried again but it still wouldn't activate. I haven't seen this before on Windows 7 clients in the past. Any ideas bar re building the affected devices?

hi all Were developing Windows 10 1803 Enterprise for users. One of our current issues is, when Edge is opened it freezes and doesn't load anything. You can get to options and I have tried clearing the edge cache and that doesn't have any effect. I have also tried logging on as local administrator and the issue is still present. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

It took 4 months to get my school onto the online version. My previous school ditched schools cash office just as I left. I was caller 20 in the que yesterday morning but I did get my issue resolved by the end of the day.

We included that within the tender for the service plan. Ours includes the software support.

Buy. Our school prefers to purchase the copiers outright with 5 year service plans with the potential to extend the service beyond the 5 years if the copier hasn't done a high mileage.

Hi all, I am strugging to get my new fleet of HP Probook 650 G3s to PxE boot. I have tried setting a bios password, running legacy boot and setting PxE boot as the first priority. I have also downloaded the latest intel NDIS2 driver and uploaded it to my SCCM server. This is deploying Windows 10. Has anyone got the same laptops and can offer any suggestions? Thanks J

This is probably going to be unhelpful Tim, but I chucked all of the ones I had at my previous school 5 years ago as their performance was poor and they used to go though bulbs quite frequently. They also sagged and the image wouldn't always line up properly. Terrible units in my opinion. I would use this as an opportunity to buy yourself a new Ultra Short Throw projector.

When I came to my present school, they had cards simply for unlocking doors. A security company had printed photos on some of them. The rest were just blank cards with names written on them. When staff who didn't have photo cards (in some instances) went to visit other venues, such as feeder primary schools or other school sites who are more "hot" on the ID card issue, they weren't allowed much if any access. 6th form students didn't have any student ID, so they struggled to get student discounts on purchases and more importantly, the bus company stopped taking their word for it and asked for photo ID from their institutions when applying for a bus pass. Because of all of this, we finally switched to photocard for all staff members and 6th form students. Starting this year, all 6th form students must now wear their ID card at all times. 6th form cards must have expiry dates otherwise they can't be used for discounts and we have a different colour lanyard for year 12 and for year 13. These will alternate yearly.

The doors were primarily set to unlock via the fire alarm. If for any reason the locks didn't release or someone forgot to unlock the door that day, someone would be on hand to check they were open. If I was off, one of the techs would do it.

In my last school, they had the same problem. The Premises Manager took all of the break glasses away and this stopped it. During an evacuation, I used to have the job of checking that the doors were unlocked and open during an evacuation.

I did the same. We did have roaming profiles as well which were just getting bigger and bigger. This was all back in 2012 under server 2003. Group Policy had 365 policies in there, I got those down to about 8. We're any of you TUPE'd from the MSP?

The 64bit edition of Server 2003 was the enterprise edition. I remember installing it for a SQL upgrade to SIMS.

If it's not broke don't fix it. It is a hell of a job to do and to be honest I wouldn't have done it if it had all been working properly. It was a good experience though. At my current school I have been thinking about doing it, but the current system works well and has been upgraded to 2012R2 functional level, its just the name I don't like

From reading the daily mail version of this article. It seems that some of the affected schools were BSF managed sites, who have their own network for facilities management including cameras.

Yes that's correct, I built a new domain which was based on two domain controllers, down from 2 root and 2 school ones. I also rebuilt all of the Windows servers gradually in the same year as the current ones were running Server 2003 and I migrated to Server 2008R2. So in the end we had a totally new system software wise.

Yeah, that's what I had. It worked ok for about 6 months and then suddenly every Monday at 10am without any error logs the DCs would all crash and everything just stopped working. In the end all affected schools started again and had no problems since.

Me too please. Be great to stick to the same standards as everyone else. I will make troubleshooting a lot easier

Did the MSP set that up or did you all have to build the replacements? I created a replacement for my school
