The RMP have no jurisdiction over civilians as far as i'm aware (which the students would be classed as) so i'm surprised they're pursuing this matter. I'm the son of a civil servant who was based in Episkopi in the late 90's early 00's. I was in boarding school but my brother did attend SJS until year 10. :-)

I notice that you're based in Episkopi Cyprus. (I lived there a long time ago) Are you on the SBA and subject to UK law? Is the request from the Republic Police or SBA, RMP, SFP etc?

Dual purpose furniture to be used as classroom and IT suite
jimmy_2k replied to genesis's topic in Learning Network Manager
Personally I would avoid anything with a mechanism or flip desk like the plague. I have had a lot of issues with flip desks, students banging lids during lessons or the mechanisms breaking, cables getting snagged etc. The repair and maintenance just costs a lot in time and money. What I have found works out the best is go get the widest desks you can with the computer monitors either on stands or with computers such as NUCs with the base unit mounted on the back of a screen. When a non IT lesson needs to be taught, simply push the keyboard and mouse out of the way. I'm not saying its as tidy as a flip desk system but its easier to maintain and more reliable as there isn't much to break. No one in my school liked the flip desks and they were happy once I had switched over to large desks with monitors on mounts. -
[1803, au] One Drive opening in browser blocked by Group Policy

Bump. This ones surfaced again, anyone got any ideas? -
It worked fine for about 6 months and then on some sites the domain kept failing. Nearly all of the Bristol schools with the schools.bristolbsf.net domain ended up having to start from scratch 12 months later, that said a lot of schools who move from one MAT to another would then switch to the new MAT's domain for operational reasons so that pretty much covers schools breaking away.

I can't find which application is indeed in progress. The Majority of the ProBook 650 batch have the issue but not all of them

I'm stuck with this issue still. It seems to be confined to our HP laptops, everything else installs fine. I've been trying to install a wagent for netsweeper and once again i'm getting another installation is still in progress. If I go onto the affected machines and stop the Windows 32bit installer process which is running at 32% CPU, the software then installs. I have kept up with the SCCM updates etc. I've now got to do 50 manual installs!

I've just moved to Reading Cloud and ditched the onsite Eclipse system. What issues have people had with Reading Cloud?

I'm stuck with the same problem. Did you manage to resolve this issue?

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

Our Windows 10 staff laptops can go offline to enable staff to take them home etc. One thing we are starting to have crop up now they have been using them since getting them new in September, is that they will go offline and sometimes stay offline. Sometimes manually resyncing the laptop will help, other times all you can do is restart. We are on 1803 enterprise.

When I had an ACT system I used to have a SIMS import done by a company called Cyclone Technologies. They might be able to help if they are still around -
[1803, au] One Drive opening in browser blocked by Group Policy
jimmy_2k posted a topic in Windows 10
Hi all We have blocked the One Drive app from syncing on our laptops, however we want our staff to be able to use One drive online to upload and edit things live (much as you can in Google apps). When a user tries to open a powerpoint within Office 365, they get a message saying this has been blocked by the administrator. I have added the Windows 10 ADMX templates to group policy and tried to find a setting to enable documents from Onedrive to be edited in browser, but I can't find a setting. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks -
How long have you had the ones which are still working? Are they outside or inside?

Just got a job with RM Community Connect 4.

erm, this is an old thread circa 2012. I wonder if the school in question has CC4 anymore. -
Anyone using them at their school and what do they think? I've asked around locally and the feedback wasn't great. Also is anyone using any other brand of padlock which can be opened by a MiFare chip/ID Card?

They Shall Not Grow Old - Schools DVD - Won't Play

One of our staff had already ripped it and uploaded it to our shared drive. Looks like he's saved me some hassle. -
Ok i've just updated SCCM to 1806 and force reinstalled the client onto a laptop. I have tried to deploy a new application to the laptop and once again I get the error another installation is already in progress. I have tried to restart the windows installer service by force and from the services.msc menu. Windows won't let me... Any more ideas? I'm totally stuck at the moment

Thanks. I've managed to crack it. I had to rebuild the update database by stopping the update service and trashing the database so it recreated itself. Sorry that I've not got the webpage link to hand otherwise i'd post it for others.

Hi all, I've tried to find a similar thread on here as i'm sure i'm not the only one with this issue. I have Server 2016 R2. I have been trying to update Windows so I can update SCCM. I have expanded the C Drive and each time I try and run any Windows update now I get a message that any updates have failed to install. I have run the Windows update troubleshooter and all issues are resolved apart from Potential Windows update database error detected. The troubleshooter can't resolve this issue. I've seen various stuff online but I wondered if someone can please point me in the right direction Thanks

Thanks for that. I've run the pre requisite check and its come back failed :-(. I'm trying to run the windows updates at the moment and a couple of those have failed too... ugh..
-
Ok thanks. I'll run all the MS updates. Will this update SCCM or do I need to download and install the latest version..
-
I'll run windows update. I thought it was auto updating but it hasn't been...
