anyone worked out how to request more than one pair?

a couple of my mates went over there for it. about £1000 or more for the flights, and I'd bet on at least £100 per night in the hotels, if not more. And like hell would the wife let me go without her coming along too. So 2-3k for one, £5k as an estimate for 2 including travel, tickets and living costs etc.

I'm torn between the LED glasses or the light reflective ones (Fuel looked good in blue). I cycle to work, but also have to go up the loft occasionally to mess with cables. LED glasses would have their uses!

tvcatchup is a live stream, i believe it's a few seconds behind BBC, but live enough to watch. With normal buffering, you won't notice the difference. TVCatchup - Never Miss A Show Again How/where it gets the feed from I do not know, but it will provide an alternative to the BBC site, which will no doubt be lagged to death

My view on it is, that the World cup is as much a festival as it is a competition. There are celebrations, ceremonies, lots of parties. I have seen my family more in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 6; they come to mine to watch the match. I personally dislike watching football. Breaking my collarbone at the age of 10 while playing for a youth team, and spending 6 months on the bench watching my mates play did that to me. BUT, I support my country, and enjoy the atmosphere. If I had the thousands required, I'd have gone to south africa and seen a couple of games. The world cup see's people of every colour, race, size, country and class, all together, having a good time. It has brought life and prosperity to a country that deserves it, and has put on one of the best world cups I have ever seen. Frankly, I'm for all schools promoting this.

watching the Chile Honduras match atm on ITV live (got permission to test it ready for next week) and not impressed. Quality is exceedingly poor, stuttering frequently, losing the video stream frequently, too much other junk on the screen too. Will be going to find a freeview box and test my aerial tonight methinks.

I respectfully disagree here. If we were to go for these principles at all times, it would be a legal requirement for us to all be trained on using PAT equipement, and spend half our time doing it, and you could never have an external PAT tester come in frequently enough. You have to assume for at least some reasonable period of time that equipment is 'safe' barring visual inspections at time of use. When you use that step ladder to change a projector/bulb, do you go and get it tested every use? Or do you check for anything obvious, and assume that the label that says it was good 3 months ago is still valid? Same has to apply to new equipment. You can't assume that every new, safe or working bit of equipment is faulty, you have to assume it's good, and make sure it's good at appropriate intervals.

I actually want one of these. I used to do a lot of stuff within scouting, and that would be a truly epic way of lighting the camp fire!

Are we seriously saying this company buys a truck of casio projectors, strips them and turns them into toys? I find it more likely they just ring the company that makes the diodes, and order a box. this smells of hoax to me.

Do you buy a new car, and immediately go and put it in for an MOT? A visual inspection should be enough, because anything else you should know what your buying. If you don't trust the kit you've bought, and believe it's going to blow up when you plug it in, then you shouldn't have bought it in the first place. Lets face it, none of us are going to go to argos and buy a new kettle or iron, and immediately ring up your nearest electrician to have it fully tested. But if you take the kettle out and see the mains cable has been eaten by a rat, and has mould growing on the plug, you should have the sense not to plug it in, and contact the manufacturer and/or retailer that sold you the item. Same thing applies if you buy a new computer for home use, wheither it be a home build, or from Dell. Otherwise we'd all have to be qualified electricians, and probably electrical engineers to do our jobs. I've just bought 6 new laptops for staff, I have no intention of phoning the PAT tester and getting him in to test my equipment. If your the one doing it, and have a procedure of rolling testing then sure it can't hurt to do it. But there is no REQUIREMENT to test brand new equipment. Don't make work for yourself and extra cost for your school.

A laser can be 100w, but if it happens to be one mounted in the particle accelerator in CERN it's hardly dangerous to anyone unless you plan on crawling around inside it while they conduct the tests A 1w laser you can almost fit in a pocket (albeit a BIG pocket) and leave sat on your side unit charging, and then walk outside and set fire to the neighbours cat.... Now THAT i'd class as dangerous

who's showing the england game next week? bcc or itv or both? I too prefer the bbc stream, for a start it doesn't want me to feed my life into it via a facebook feed...

My record was GAINING 1 stone, and losing 2 inches off the waistline in 3 weeks. Living in a tent, and working 8 hour nightly shifts in a kitchen with an average temp of 103 degrees for 3 weeks does that to you But when I used to be a climbing instructor and a cyclist was my peak; I gained 2 stone in muscle in 2 months, and got to the point where I could lift the wife with one arm without trying. Then I discovered beer, computers and driving, and it all went downhill from there
