  1. I think the latter, I'm 24. I was about 7-8 when I got my first computer/console.
  2. The closest I'd have would be of me playing sonic on a megadrive. Does that count as retro?
  3. We use two encrypted HDDs alternating each one monthly. Each drive is encrypted and is stored in lock box at my house, one key is kept in the server room and the other is kept at the head teachers house. We're a Primary School so don't have masses of data, it all fits nicely onto a 1TB HDD. Edit - I'll add that SIMS and Finance data is backed up, encrypted and copied to another local school each night for an offsite backup.
  4. Do you have anything that would be able to charge upto 30 USB devices using the devices own USB leads? Thanks, Dan
  5. Just found another potential annoying 'feature'. When attaching files I often copy the file path from explorer to paste into the attach dialog box. There doesn't seem to be one for local files. I had to use network and change C:\ to \\localhost. Or did I miss where the option is? A lot of things are hidden with swipes and right clicks.
  6. We have four sony ereaders and charge these though a powered usb hub, seems to work ok. It's not the fifteen you have but what works for four should work for fifteen.
  7. Vanilla Here, ~120 Clients & two servers. All managed by me 3 days a week (which is more time than needed for the management of the network)
  8. I run two schools, one follows Greek Gods and the other Roman Gods. SIMSSERVER was Roman God right?
  9. Still or Video?
  10. I've used this in the past, does the job nicely. Find and Remove Duplicate Files, Music, and Images - Duplicate File Detective
  11. BBC News - Robotic dog unveiled by the US military Anyone else think it looks more like a sheep than a dog?
  12. Also have a look at this previous post: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/promethean-direct-support/72654-activprimary-runtime-error-380-a.html No idea if it sorted the problem, but may be worth a try.
  13. Do you have any sample images of the laser branded desktops?
  14. osTicket can be set up to pull down emails from a number of email addresses and automatically create tickets ob the helpdesk system.
  15. At first I really liked it, the way it looks, the minimalistic design. But when it came to sending an email with more than text that's it. You don't seem to be able to insert inline images or tables or any kind of formatting other than bold, italic, etc.
  16. Would it affect home users? Do they presume enterprise users would use a KMS server?
  17. Yes, to get metro apps to work I have to use: netsh winhttp import proxy source = ie in cmd as admin this should use your IE proxy settings for metro apps.
  18. Got win 8 pro on my work laptop, and I'd have to say I like it too. The mail app is nice and basic and picked up my Google apps mail box no problem. Same with contacts and calendar. Now I've got my start screen set up with things I use (did away with sports and financial etc) and got a link to Edugeek there, I'm getting used to the start screen. My laptop has an SSD so time to log on screen from cold is next to nothing with an almost instant login. My gripes so far have to be the lack of a clock on the modern UI, but I'm getting used to top left down to show the time. Also I use a dual screen set up with the second monitor a 4:3 ratio and the snap feature of modren ui apps doesn't seem to work with 4:3 monitors. Taking some getting used to but it's not too bad, for me anyway; I'm not too sure what the average user would think.
  19. I'm liking these abstract backgrounds. Are they something you've made, or downloaded off the internet and added your logo?
  20. I think the ZD can act as a host for the WPAD file as well.
  21. Does it work well? Any latency when streaming?
  22. I want one. Either to use as a xbmc pc, or try to make an all in one keyboard like the raspcherry posted earlier.
  23. Didn't we have Edusweep that did this? Don't know if it still works. --edit-- http://www.edugeek.net/forums/edusweep/17638-project-page-download-here.html
  24. I wouldn't dream of deploying it. It'd only be cool because it's all shiny and new.
  25. Would be cool from our point of view. I think staff and pupils would have a fit. It's taking some getting used to for me, especially as I can see a clock when using metro apps etc.
