Pinky Purple. It matches the school logo really well. Every thing's branded at our school, even the lift shaft so it fits in really well. I've also seen a white one in the same style which looks very nice indeed.

I Agree, I've got a demo broadleaf one that's bright purple (the school colour). Hopefully be ordering them for the Summer.

It's really miffed me off too. I bought it before it changed as I used to play local network with my Wife as she has an iPad too. Now they've changed it there's no local network it has to go through facebook and there's a new store button so no doubt in app purchases will be arriving soon. I just hope it's not going to be pay 69p for new letters etc.

OSTicket does. We use it for both our IT team and our buildings dept.

We use osticket. It's PHP/SQL based so needs a web server to run on. We have it running on a really old desktop and it runs fine. If you know a bit about PHP you can write your own scripts, for example I have a page that just displays how many open tickets there are that is constantly displayed on a screen in the office. It can also be setup to pull emails from an inbox and create tickets out of those.

Just used apt dist-upgrade and seems to have worked fine.

The video on sky news of the engine close up says "This is the less effected engine" so presumably both had trouble and it was the starboard smoking but the port in the sky news video. (presuming my port and starboard are correct).

It sounds a lot like the pen is spiking. Try restarting the board by disconnecting the power from the back. I've also solved a spiking problem by updating / refreshing the firmware. --edit-- Actually thinking about it, it doesn't sound like spiking. If you have a spare pen follow @Meldrew's advice. You could also try my advice as procedure.

We're trialing at the moment. The part we're most interested in is the ability to redirect to MFPs and to suggest/force duplex etc. I doubt we'll ever be able to actually charge for printing.

I have these same boards on the same machines and experience the problem here also. It's very intermittent here. It will sometimes work and sometimes not. I've always presumed that it's trying to boot from the board or trying to see if it can use it as a boot device. Maybe try disabling all boot devices in bios except the internal HDD.

We do an AM and PM register. We're a 'green school' so two sheets of paper per class per day was deemed not an option. So we have a laminated copy of each class list. After each registration the office staff do a report on SIMS to find absent students who are then marked with a dry wipe pen on the laminated class lists. In the event of a fire these laminated class lists are taken out and any student without a mark to say they're out should be there. We've been using this method for about 2 years and whilst we've not used it in a real fire it has worked well in our drills.

I work in two schools. One has an IT suite the other has two trollies of 16 laptops. Both are used a lot, but from my observations the laptops work better for classes as they go to the class rather than the class going to them which minimizes disruption due the class moving around. On the other hand the IT suite computers never run out of battery power and pretty much always have the latest software on deployed via group policy. If you want anymore info about the pro/cons of either school just give me a PM.

I think it might be the path. I don't think Windows 7 has a docs and settings folder. The path should be something like. C:\Users\Public\Documents\ActiveSoftware\ActivePrimary3

Yes the plasma does suffer screen burn. I do a screen flash thingy app for a day that seems to work, but connecting to the PC and xibo works fine.

We have xibo running on PCs connected to: 19 inch monitor via VGA - Works well 24 inch LCD TV via VGA - works well 42 inch Plasma TV via VGA - works well 37 inch LCD via HDMI - works well All worked out of the box by just connecting the PC to the TV / Monitor.

Fair amount here in Sheffield, nothing show stopping though. Snake and woodhead pass closed though.

The flowchart style one will probably be scratch. We have it running off a share with no problems. We're an average sized primary school with maybe half a class using it at a time.

I'd also be very interested in this. We have mostly Dell 3110cn but a few HP printers and konica bizhub c320 & c280.
