is it net support school or lan school that now does battery monitoring? im sure i saw it somewhere

we have 2 of these and they just would not work correctly on a 2003 printserver standalone they are great no problems at all. sorry but i think you are not going to get these to work just cut your losses get something else

im no expert so if anyone else can add anything. RUCKUS PEOPLE couple of questions so everyone can help what operating system are you using What make and model of laptops have you got? Drivers for the lan upto date? Ruckus upto date? it does sound to me like a profile size issue 34mb is quite large for a profile i would say anyway (Dont flame me everyone)as our user profiles are 1.5mb pupils and 2mb for teachers. if you go on your server and find one of you users in active directory and right click then properties under the profile tab what does it say? http://www.computeronlinetips.com/images/user_profiles.gif is it something like this look in the folder that the profile path says and see what size of profile the user is trying to pull down. if anyone can add anything please post

we have the same issuie here although after the 2008 migration it is a bit faster i could use some tips also

how big are the profiles that the pupils get as this can slow the login times by a massive amount? do you use roaming profiles or mandatory? redirect start menu application data?

how about doing it with permissions set up a security group called library or something add the staff you want to see the icon put the icon in the dekstop change the premissions on the icon so that only that security group can read the file i have used this way before

Jamin What did you do to get it working i have the same problem when i click the tabs it might be that im running it on vista at the moment at home but any help would be appretiated.

i would try running the exe through something like win rar or 7zip to see if it can extract the files. sorry dont know what ele you could try

i noticed the apparent lag while i was running the demo but the program just seems solid to me no crashes as of yet the remote is only to mess with the kids while they are playing games looking for a reason not to get it but i have not found one yet.

Thanks guys I really must download the trial now and stop being lazy thanks for the info the pricing of lanschool is so much cheaper than net support school so it looks like we might be changing over what impact does lanschool have on your network? we plan to use this with laptops is this a good idea? do you have any problems with clients dropping off the control of the teacher (the service crashing) i only ask this because we have trouble with net support school. HI people Im just after a little information on lanschool and certain senarios We have a desktop computer in each classroom locked down to mandatory profiles as i understand lan school runs on a channel system the problem i have is that we were wanting to control our mobile laptop trolleys via the teachers desktop computer but we have more than one trolley and they are mobile so the trolley they get might be different the next time to cut a long story short is it possible to change the channel lanschool is using easily for teachers (more than three clicks is getting beyond or teachers skill level) i wanted to ask before i even bother downloading the trial.

have you looked at daemon tools we use an avantis cd server

What we found was the content was quite good and well set out all but the drama one did not need a install so we dumped them all on a cd server or you could put on a network share. you need to get a vle version for inclusion on a vle. im sure they do a scorm version now Good product very over priced. Pupils never use this in our school. It will eventually die a death just like all the other over priced lazy teaching material they seem to buy.

did you reflash the firmware as we had a problem with one of our boards and a quick firmware upgrade did the trick it now works perfectly. promethean said i had to replace the circuit board (papp) look down the firmware upgrade route before replacing it. 2pence worth
