Have the staff taken to it ? How did you promote it? I have made ours a little different as i want the help desk to work for me by being able to identify software,equipment and staff that are not up for the job certain teachers always send students down for silly things like the mouse is not working on xyz pc (yea thanks for telling me but why did it take 3 students to come and tell me) this must be affecting learning especially when i get to the room they have 20 other computers they could have used

I also have done it so that once they select the request type ie software,computer ,internet etc it brings a more specific drop down box with sims,ms office,flash,dreamweaver etc# i cant help thinking i have missed off something though i wish i had the time to do some how too guides.

I am currently implementing web help desk and i am starting the FAQ section i was wondering if you nice people might share your FAQ sections that you have taken so long to compile for your systems. We run here Office 2003 Exchange 2003 Mainly OWA IE7 Audacity Scratch Corel Draw x4 urghhhhh Adobe Photoshop cs2 Macromedia Studio Flash,Dreamweaver,Fireworks Sims.net(any how to guides for teachers would be great) using windows maybe? we all have this kind of staff all sorts of odd stuff here and there anything would be much appretiated. I just want to compile a decent FAQ section before i let the teachers loose on it Thanks in advance

thanks guys i used the advanced installer software to create a custom msi not a bad piece of software for free.

I also might try appdeploys repackager it seems to be the same as ghost's ai package builder takes snapshot before install then compares the differences and creates a msi for you( well thats what it said it does) im sure this would helpme with this little problem

just setup scratch animation/story software via the msi supplied one question i need to ask is how do i deploy a modified scratch.ini file along with the msi do i need to repackage the msi to include the modified msi if so can anyone tell me how. or do i need to copy scratch.ini into the folder where the Msi is installed from. any help appretiated.

hi the way i got round this was to create a mandatory profile with large text icons and mouse pointers etc and point any special needs pupils to that profile. it works great and i have also created a profile for pupils with dislexia.

yep cyan toner always fails on the hp refills, not just the IJT ones IJT are very agressive sales wise but they can save you some money. to stop the emails just email your account manager with the following if i am not taken off your mailing list blah blah blah due to the high volume of emails that we receive from your company i will now be adding your companys domain details into our spam filter. i found it quite funny that i got one more email that said i have now taken you off our mailing list..... do you need any toner? i found it funny at the time The recycled hp toners dont touch with a barge pole supply memory errors, exploding cartridges, and the best one is on hp 3550 if you print a page with a high volume of cyan the printer wraps the paper round the fuser,yet another call out. false enconomy recycled toners cause more work for the techs

lanschool 7.5 seems to be ok so far except one problem i have is that when the machines are at the login screen the teacher console does not see the client the pupils have to log in before it is picked up. i am going to download an upgrade that the support people have but so far it seems to be pretty good. as for pricing if you ask for migration pricing it works out very very cheap 60 clients cost us around 265 pounds with three years support. we have net support school and the pricing is really stupid. thats why i went for lan school

try this it is nice and free Free Video Converter - Any Video Converter Free Version - convert video to any formats, avi to MPEG, avi to MP4, flv to MPG it lets you convert to loads of formats and has a nice youtube download feature. watch on the install for toolbars etc but the software seems pretty solid and quick

we use 3 Hp tc4200 tablet pc's the screens rotate and they are quite easy to handle bit like a clipboard and pen. seems to work ok

Does anyone use the domain tracking option in the FROG VLE enviroment after the recent upgrade we can no longer view pupils web activity or use the domain tracking feature. could Any frog users who use that feature please post if it is working or not. Thanks
