I've found that setting a Computer based Firewall rule GPO that blocks all outbound traffic seems to do the job. Particularly useful as both Edge and Chrome seem desperate to create a desktop shortcut for you for their respective browsers 😡

The Gunslinger - Stephen King The first book of the Dark Tower series. My succinct review is I was underwhelmed. It's the first Stephen King book I've read, and it didn't live upto my expectations. In fairness, in the foreward to the book, Stephen King does explain that he wrote this when he was younger, and, reading between the lines, knows this isn't his best work, and the later books are an improvement. The main issue is that Stephen King seems to be trying to show off by writing one sentence chapters, and not fully explaining, well, anything, so as a reader I was lost. It has some good moments, and some moments that, I expect, will be made much clearer as the series progresses. However, I've just started Wind and Truth by Sanderson, and it's the longest book he's ever written coming in at a breezy 1344 pages, so my return to the Dark Tower series is going to be somewhat delayed!

Does it allow you to check-in / check out devices? We use Snipe-It for loaning out devices, which is very quick and simple. GLPI looks really interesting, and could be a single replacement for all my seperate Helpdesk/Asset Scanning/Snipe-IT systems.

Second Snipe-IT. We pay for the hosting to make life a little easier, and it's well worth the money.

We use Exam Screen (Examscreen) Big clock and allows invigialtors to put in the actual exam so it will work out the extra time for you. There is a cost, but I'm pretty sure it's cheap! Our Exam Officer loves it.

Could put in your SLA and AUP? If you have an IT Vision Statement or Strategy Overview, that might be worthwhile advertising. A 'Who we are' section might be helpful too?

The only cat I'm interested in at the moment is Princess Doughnut... Currently listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl, superbly read by Jeff Hayes. It's a mix of a MMORPG, Fantasy and South Park. At times absolutely hilarious, though there are parts where it can be a touch exposition heavy. Well worth a read/listen if you have any interest in RPGs or South Park style over the top humour. Also reading the Dark Tower by Steven King. Got the complete set over Christmas, so only about a third of the way through book one. I'm enjoying it, but very lost on what's going on! I assume/hope it will become a bit clearer as the book progresses.

Worth looking at Pluralsight - it has the courses you are talking about, and it's 50% off for individual plans until Dec 25th. I used them briefly when time allowed, and the online videos were alright, a little dry, but seemed to cover all the aspects in detail.

Unless this is picked up as part of an Ofsted inspection, or similar outside body, I don't see many headteacher's giving the (substantial) resources required to meet these standards.

Yes, essentially Microsoft have removed the Office A1 plus licence, which is causing a lot of schools issues. You'll need Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty (or similar) licences to be able to activate O365.

Does the Screen itself not have software that allows laptops to share their screen and touch capability? Looks like the ActivPanel has a Screen Share app, I would try that in the first instance. If you're connecting Desktops, maybe adding a USB WiFi adapter might be an idea?

I was more thinking a member of the attendance team has accidentally filled in P2 with I codes, rather than individual teachers. Nevertheless, I'm sure Bromcom support will be able to get to the bottom of it!

That honestly sounds like a user error than a system one. Have you looked in the system logs to see if someone has accidentally filled P2 with an 'i' code?

What WiFi are you running? If it's Layer 7 aware, you might be able to limit the bandwidth using a firewall rule.

With some apologies for necro raising this thread, but I've created a template for DfE Standards that I thought might be helpful: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GdgMr0xeeoo0TSog43AD2osTxDRu8EEs?usp=sharing It has an Summary sheet that will pick up the number of RED/Amber/Green for each standard, and will pull through any strands of those standards that have been rated High Priority. Each Standard is sperated onto their own sheet, and the explanation of each strand is available underneath the RAG rate by expanding the rows below. See screenshots for an example. The Cyber Security and Leadership and Governance Sheets have a slightly different format as each has individual standards that are made up of different strands, and each of these can be RAG rated or marked as High Priority. One thing to note is that I've only allowed for 3 High Priorities per Standard, more than that and the priorities won't show until you add more rows to accomodate the extra priorities. Any feedback welcome.

I don't know Dave, I'm playing the Trails in the Sky Remake, and there is a part of me that wishes Square Enix had taken that route instead for FFVII... The other issue is that the technical requirements for Rebirth is so high I don't have anything to play it on! I've tried on my SteamDeck and I may as well cover the screen in vasoline
