  6. The company i work for sell most the products mentioned on EduGeek as were a IT reseller formally known as Apricot Computers. With that one I've put a link up we have the least complaints so I'm happy to post the link on it, hope it helps you guys
  7. First point -fair enough. Second point - I am not sure if you have seen the prices recently and it does the job. I have not heard 1 customer issue about that product on that link.
  8. Phillip you may benefit from this Total Traffic Control Demo for Schools
  9. Thank you for the compliments, yeah my company name is on it as well as EduTech school cost savings and 2 other schools in the UK a good article from the Microsoft Marketing Manager for the UK
  10. Well done to you, Phillip and the others at the school, as well as West Hatch School and Twynham. This whole article deserves a front page listing James so that other schools can get the money saving tips off it :-)
  11. Thanks for the comments folks on the iTouch costume. The reason I wore the hand made costume is (not only because I am a big Apple fan!) but because I actually believe that the iTouch can be a learning aid for students - not to replace laptops/netbooks but as an addition to them, a learning aid for not only in the classroom but for on the move, outside of the classroom and at home. Yes there are lots of questions surrounding this, who what why/security/wireless etc etc which is why companies are available to help with this. I hope to have the opportunity to visit some of the schools in Toronto later this year, to see how the students out there are learning with the technology available to them as some of the most digitally innovative schools in the world are located in Toronto. Also if anyone wants to make me an offer for the hand made iTouch costume then it is yours....The money will go to UK based Charity IT Schools Africa....
  12. Here are details of a UK based charity IT Schools Africa which I am trying to create awareness for Hollies Blog: Christmas giving to IT Schools Africa Charity
  13. I am visiting a UK based charity tomorrow I.T. Schools Africa As I am going to Africa the 29th December in the hope to reach some under privilaged schools and provide some resources etc. One of my school customers in Birmingham put me in touch with the IT Schools Africa charity so far so good
  14. BBC News - Bolton school equips every pupil with iPod Touch A school in Bolton has given each of its pupils an iPod Touch to help them with their school work and keep in touch with teachers. The Essa Academy spent £120,000 equipping them all with the gadget.
  15. Pupils given iPhones to help them learn - Telegraph Interesting reading here for you
  16. We have arranged a tweet up for locals to Birmingham in particular Oldbury and Wolverhampton area. Social Media Technologies will be the main topic of conversation for both business and educational organisations. If you would like to get involved then our first meeting is the morning of 3rd December 9:45 which is tomorrow! Apologies if i haven't gave enough notice I only decided to do this a couple of days ago and already had a company in America wanting feedback!! Hollies Blog: Twitter Tweetup @Network_Si
  17. very funny Neon
  18. cheers folks my manager David Ricketts at Network Si did something nice for me which mean't i was able to do something nice myself, plus my brothers wouldn't of wanted a pink girlie iPod!!!! lol :-)
  19. Well done Daz first to reply you win, got the details also on PM - Well done :-)
  20. Hello - The company i work for gave me an iTouch which means I no longer need my iPod. Does anyone here want my old iPod? If you send me your contact details I'm quite happy to send it out to someone...anyone.....lol my household is full of males they don't want a pink metalic ipod so if anyone on here wants it, let me know..first come, first served..
  21. I've got my own iTouch now as well as an iPhone and an iPod!!! I no longer need the iPod and can't give it away to anyone in my family as they are all male and this iPod is pink......anyone of you Apple enthusiasts want it? Don't get me wrong I've had it a while and dropped it a few times but it's still going strong and in good condition..
  22. Some Educational applications here which some of you might find useful in the future 50 Educational Apps for the iPod Touch (via activehistory.co.uk / classtools.net)
  23. - I would say this is why it is important for a school to have a good robust wireless solution in place these questions justify the spend on wireless -The Essa Academy went for Extricom. Also just in case not everyone will know there is actually a Apple conference on today where 200 Governt bodies are attending CLCs to talk about the iTouch being used in schools so will be more talk in the future so we all will have to embrace it :-)
  24. nice try there Neon.....1 big flaw there...you can make phone calls with the nokia. This is not wanted in the brief for the students -iTouch still the only device suitable
  25. Good point. At first it was my own from home device iPhone -It just made my life easier i wasn't thinking "this is unfair" my work are benefiting from me bla bla bla -my work pay me to do a job to the best of my ability. Then about 12 months later the employer i work for noticed how much of a difference this was making to my produtivity to the point where they said to me have an iTouch for nothing!!! So If my iPhone breaks then I have my new iTouch whilst my colleagues are still using generic standard. The point i was trying to make is that I am a young lass and have not long left full time education and would of really loved it if we had new technologies to help us with studying. It is a positive that the young people of today have the technology available to them to help them achieve their goals in life, like this technology is helping me to achieve mine now :-)
