I was wondering where you got your moniker from.

Came across this accidentally just now. If you move your cursor to the extreme bottom right of your screen, at the end of the toolbar, a message pops up saying Show Desktop. If you keep the cursor there for a couple of seconds more any open windows will be minimised. Moving the cursor away from this area will return things as they were.

I think that the collaborative learning aspect of a wiki within a vle is recognized, but I was lying awake this morning wondering if anyone has actually successfully implemented a wiki on their school vle? How have you gone about it? Did the pupils/staff find it a difficult or easy concept to grasp?

Can I just point out that the price of a pint of beer in 1972 was around 14p. It's currently around £2.70. A haircut cost 2/6 (12.5p). I didn't work in a bakery until 1976, but I seem to recall that a loaf of bread was much less than 38p. I know the small print says "All prices adjusted for inflation", but I still don't follow it. I've just visited the link and seen this I'm of a generation, like some of these MPs, who wouldn't have had a university education but for student grants. Both my daughters are at university. I don't want to see them begin their working lives in penuary, so my wife and I manage (pay off) their loans for them (see IT Witch above), and I'm sure MPs are doing the same. Talking in headlines doesn't really address the issues.

Visual Studio 5 has to be installed, but that is done as part of the overall install of this module. Nothing is installed on the Moodle site, apart from the My Courses block. This is all installed on the teacher's machine and you then get a couple of options in, for example, Word, which are Download from Moodle, and Save to Moodle. Selecting either of these from the Office button will bring up a dialogue which will ask for the url of your Moodle and your username and password. I've tried it and it works (after a little messing). It's a little basic at the moment.

As the man says, Edugeek picks up the hotel tab (forget the mini-bar), but there have been some cases where people say they're coming, Edugeek book a room for them, then they don't turn up. IIRC there was a case a couple of years ago where ten people who said they were coming didn't turn up, which cost Edugeek £350.00. That money could have been put to better use.

I can't beleive that you checked up on me. Thanks for the reference. It has made me think. I would spell organize with a z, but not privatise, similarly with analyse I couldn't bring myself to use the letter z in place of s, though I know not why. That's probably why I find myself reluctant to join the Pedantic Geeks, though my heart did rise when I noticed the group had been formed. It may be that I'm just a lazy git.
