  1. We've been having this issue sporadically, however in our case it seems to be user related. When certain users log on to computers in certain rooms they either pick up a printer which has been previously allocated to our terminal server, or no printer at all. The only difference I can see with these users is that in the management console (but NOT in Active Directory(?)) they appear as [username]@forestdnszones.[ourdomain]etc rather than the normal [username]@[ourdomain]etc. This can't be changed from within the management console, there is a dropdown box showing our domain, domaindnszones.[ourdomain]etc, and the forestdnszones.[ourdomain]etc Any ideas why this could be?? Any input would be much appreciated Laura
  2. Hi Gray, The devices aren't staying registered with systemadmin, teachertest OR standard user types, promethean thought it may be something to do with the tick in the read only box of the documents and settings filtering down to the device registration folder, but that tick reappears when the user logs off and logs on again, it is a standard setting with the RM CC3 network I think. We do have the system working on a standalone laptop! Thnks, Laura
  3. Can anyone tell me an easy way of seperating the candidates out for individual exams when importing them? Is there an easy way? When we imported the PLASC in we can only upload the whole school to the QCA software, with the exception of a few...also is it normal to have to input the centre number and candidate number individually? I love online testing...especially when the kids ring the firebell twice a week...

  5. I did a modern apprenticeship, spotted it on my local council website and I'm doing a part time foundation degree in computing on day release for free (through a student grant system) As you're under 24 you're still eligible to qualify for a modern apprenticeship as a young person (I think). I've been really lucky to land in with a really good team who've taught me loads - I was a complete novice when I started! It's a 2 year apprenticeship that's normall offered, starting pay isn't great for the first year but you do get a free degree!

  10. Hi, I'm trying to install an Activote system on an RM CC3 network. I'm logging on as an administrator, and so far am able to register the deviced in the devices screen, this appears to save and is there every time you enter the devices menu. However, when you try to run a session it ignores any deviced being present and appears as if there are none. Also pointing the devices to a .udb doesn't seem to work - Activstudio says that there is no .udb file present even when browsing to the right folder. I have spoken to Promethean and they seem to this that it is to do with eother the hub or the users having read, write and modify access to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Activ Software\Device Registration The entire of the C;\Documents and Settings folder is set to read only as default for all RM users. Does anyone know where I might be going wrong? Thanks, Laura:hand:
