Saturday morning: 3 1/2 hours of 'dips and drops' workshop (modern Jive) Saturday PM: baking 'bikini' biscuits and icing them. last ones completed at 2am ish Sunday: packing car (3 flights of stairs to reach it) three loads. Sunday: manning a cake stall, photographing a raft race, demonstrating Modern Jive - 6 tracks on grass and a truck bed about 6 foot wide, trying not to dance off the edge. Back home at 8 to apply online for a job. Such a boring cool weekend - not!!

Can sell with or without the batteries. Just selling a bunch of things to pay for my tablet. It would have to go for very near to £100 excluding postage.

I have a nice little MSI netbook I'm about to put on ebay. It has W7 and 2 spare batteries, one an extra capacity. A similar one went for £100 on eBay recently without the extra batteries.

To be fair Capita can't be expected to spend time and resources on vista/xp and older servers when there are so many new OSs to test with new releases. SIMS is a really useful and powerful system (when used properly) if the schools wants it to run properly, they need to invest time and money in it.

Sever 2003 and XP support ends after the Autumn upgrade. It doesn't mean SIMS will stop working, just that if you have a problem that you will be asked to upgrade. I would suggest the server upgrade is the most important.

If they have it and are making it difficult for you to manage your data... They could be on dodgy ground. Maybe some pressure high up... mention of the Data Protection Act.

Not a good idea IMHO. What about all your historic data? You are legally bound to keep this. I'm not highly technical but I'm sure a better alternative would be to change the password. I'm sure there is a way, or get it from the LA. From the Capita website: The SIMS Service desk CANNOT advise customers on how to do this as this is a Microsoft product. Mine is based on Google Calendars and works fine in the App. So not actually extracting from the site. It was a quite straightforward process in Conduit.

Andromo http://mobile.conduit.com/ is the one I used, but not for a school site, more of a dance listings App.
