They rebuilt the server. I backed up and restored to the new one. Logged in fine. My money is on the orignal build be faulty. Worry over. I can now think about Spring Update.

Server is being rebuilt Wednesday. I'll try it on my test PC or server on Tuesday. See what happens,

I've tried every method, with the same unhappy ending. A colleague had problems to, yesterday. Maybe it's a Red Herring and it's the server... which we didn't build. Should know more next week.

Moving database to a new server. The other attempt was to restore from a backup. Two different routines with the same result.

It's the latest for the upgrade we are using. Not in the office at the moment so can't check. I have however got a script to run from Capita. Not sure when I will be able to check it though.... busy.. busy

As I posted on the Spring Update thread... I am having trouble, 2 schools so far, detaching databases. I have used the backup and also just coppied the Mdf & Ldf across before attaching. Neither will accept the logins we use. But will accept a teacher's login. I'm really concerned about our backups, migrations and upgrades. Is anyone else's DBAttach playing up?

Still having problems with DBAttach. A 2nd school is failing to login after detaching/backup. Not doing any upgrade until I know I can restore.

Okay... so Schoolcomms will synch, if you tick the box, without intervention. It will send SMS or email direct from a student's details within SIMS. The separate client is used to send to user defined groups or to create certificates.
