We have a couple AM-C4000s on site, we find them a little slow compared our previous laser printers, but I honestly think that's just the teachers complaining! They seem to have been fine sitting over the summer with no issues being run back at full speed again now that term's back.

I think we've a dozen or so of these Epson 'Heat Free' across three models (WFC879, WFC579 & AMC4000). Single sided speeds are fairly quick. They feel a little slower compared to our old Utax models - but I never did do a drag race between them (maybe I will...). When it comes to double-sided, that's where we notice the slow down the most and where most of our staffs' gripes trickle their way back to us. There is also an obvious print quality difference, but your milage may vary on that.

We had a similar issue when we were using the A1 plus licenses and it was per-user authentication for Office entitlement. I can't remember how we got to the bottom of it, but it was after a couple years and multiple MS calls, but in our case, we had to edit the permissions of a reg file. We had to edit the permissions of "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" and add "All Application Packages" (Click Locations, change to the local machine and hit check now) and give it read permissions. Restarted Office and it'd let us sign in. Not sure if it'll work for you, but thought it may be worth sharing.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I sent OP a screen-recording of it too. This is on V1.0.6 too.

Would there be anyway to change how the documents are named when they're saved? Right now, each time we manually save the doc, the date and time get added to the end of the file name. To keep our exams folder tidy, would it be possible to allow us to customise the file name strings, possibly via flags in settings file?

For laptop hinges (particularly our Dell Vostros), I've been using two-part Araldite epoxy and clamping it for at-least 24 hours. Not had one come back yet for another repair, but time will tell on that! The putty sounds a great idea for those cases with a little bit of damage, definetly going to be trying that trick out at some point!

Can anyone recommend a reliable Microsoft Licence Reseller?
TraceurElmo replied to kwatt's topic in Licensing Questions
Whilst we don't use Pugh for our OVS, we do use them for a few bolt on licenses like our Minecraft Edu licenses. Our school has been with them for a while now and haven't had any issues previously. -
I'll hop on that band-wagon too, being able to have multiple centre numbers or custom exam boards would be excellent.

Now there's something I've also been meaning to look at. What software were you planning on using to display who was in and out?

Feels like wishful thinking! But alas, happy new year everyone! Here's to 2025!

Hi All, Totally not using this an excuse as to get my post count up. I work in an independent school in Scotland, as (presently) an IT support technician. Been lurking here for a while now and picking up tidbits where possible. Looking forward to perusing the forums so more!- 4,289 replies
