  1. Hi All, We are running a CC4 network. We have HAP+ 5.4.4 running on our FRS where our Easylink is also run from. HAP+ is working great and have the Logon Tracker setup on the network as per the installation/setup video. It appears to be running fine on the workstations. However, the Logons are not being tracked. The Live page show "No data was found" and this Historic page doesn't show any of our logons only the 1 record that was prepopulated by Nick. I have put exclusions in the firewall for the hap+ exe but this still does not populate any data in the Logon Tracker log. Has anyone got any suggestions for me to try?? Regards, David
  2. Yeah i'm using 10.04 and followed the instructions on the nagios site. It was a pain the first time i installed it as Ubuntu was new to me so didn't totally install correctly. Second time, went better and is up and running. I'm just mucking around with what services and monitor levels i want for my different servers etc.
  3. Edu-IT, I just followed the documentation from the Nagios download site (Nagios - Nagios Downloads). I am running it on Ubuntu (as its free!!). There is a step by step guide on how to install Nagios on Ubuntu (Nagios Quickstart Installation Guides). I did at first use Ubuntu's software centre to download and install this for me, but as the modules from the download install the plugins and addons all over the system i decided to do the manual installation via the "Quickstart" guide. If you want any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, David
  4. I have setup this week and still testing Nagios (Nagios - The Industry Standard in IT Infrastructure Monitoring) seems to do what i want it to do. Will also look at the other suggestions people have made.

  6. Gove announced yesterday that sample schools and some academies have been allocated funds. Look on the DfE website for further details
  7. I second that!
  8. Good luck mate!!
  9. Helps if they can get the right data on the RSS feeds, BBC News Education brings through BBC News Health!!
  10. I know that some people are for BSF and some not! What has BSF actually to your school/local authority? Just interested as I am in one of the 14 sample schools that are being "reviewed"!
  11. As i've just posted on the linked thread: As a Network Manager and a Union shop steward i can't that this is going and as it appears here that no Union's have challenged this on your behalf. I am not from this area but reading this i am flabbergasted on what they are planning to do. If you are in Union's start taking out grievances again your employer! If there was any whisper in my Local Authority i'd be going straight to the Leader of the Council (luckily enough a member of our Union). I hope that this can be resolved fairly for you guys and girls. David
  12. It'll probably be called "Future School Buildings"
  13. As a Network Manager: chazzy2501, if i was you as some people have suggested get your JD, make a list of things that you do that are not on there and use this. If you have time, try and get a copy of the old NetMan's JD and see what's on there that you do and point these out to your headteacher. As Union shop steward: Do not carry out any other duties that are not on your JD, your Head will soon see that the development of IT in your school is not moving as fast as he/she would like. Say that you would be prepared to carry on doing the the NetMan's job with the title and salary that goes with it. If you are not in a Union join one!! David
  14. Hi All, Basically i have the member server joined to my domain (Its a RM CC4 setup, our forest root is a Windows 2003 server). I have managed to get the site up and running with very little problems, i can access the Moodle site from across the school and log in as the local admin user of the moodle site. I am however having problems getting AD authenication via LDAP. Ultimately i am looking to use NTLM so that users do not even have to login to get access, but for now i am happy to settle for AD authentication. I have cron setup to run at 2am daily, but i keep seeing mentions in documents and forum posts that cron should be run with auth/ldap/auth_ldap_sync_users.php. How do i do this? Does anyone know??? Regards, David Shipton Network Manager Dagenham Park Community School
