Wouldn't they already have an ip from the Primary DC DHCP lease ?

Just looked at the DHCP settings and the primary DNS server and secondary DNS servers are listed So what could the other reason that users cannot logon when the Primary DC is down ? and the sceondary and 3rd DC's are up.. Says Domain unavailable " :-(

To the the 2 Main DC's 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.4 My DC's are 192.168.1.1 FMSO Roles.. AD, File, Print, DNS, DHCP 192.168.1.4 AD, File, DNS 192.168.1.12 AD, File, DNS How do i set the workstations to have a secondary DNS server ?

They all have DNS, AD, Print and File... but only the Main DC has DHCP services installed How do i set all the clients to point to the secondary DNS server.. in the Primary DC's DHCP settings ?

Hi Bit confused here.. I have 1 Domain with 3 DC's.. two in the Curricilum Area and One in the Admin area.. I took the primary DC with the FMSO roles on down to do some work and the users could not log on (said domain unavailable) I thought the reason of having additional DC's was so if one failed the others would authenticate and the users could get to their files on the file server... Why did this not work ?

Sorry .. this is only for external cameras that face a public area.. internal cameras do not need signs as a sign by entrance is sufficiant

Funny how RM are also involved in BSF. I'm actually pretty glad they seem to have the anti-midas touch. The shocking thing is tho .. that some of the winning companies are sub contracting the support out to 3rd party ICT Companies

The BSF ICT funding is for, Infrastructure, Hardware, Servers, Cashless Catering, Access Control, CCTV, MIS, VLE's, MLE's, Photocopier Charging, Phones, and anything else that uses a PC to work.. :-( is all part of ICT and up for Managed Services

I was told by my County that I need to" Re-Position Myself" in some other role as there was no future in my present one.

The problem is that there is No place for ICT or Network Managers in the BSF and BECTA vision.. and I doubt the Managers will be TUPED accross as we are not low paid technicians that the Managed Service Company would went.

RM have won 80% of the BSF ICT Contracts so far So far approx 50% of the in-house staff have been TUPED, sometimes some staff are retained in different roles, the rest are retrenched All I would like to see is an option on not being forced to take managed services.. One of my ideas would be.... If the school wants to keep in-house the County could employ a couple of Uber Geek Consultants that will go from school to school consulting with the Network Managers making sure Best Practice" is being used and advising on Disaster Recovery, Backups, Apple etc.... as well as advising on innovations in the Education ICT field.. Plus the Network Manager would have a Highly Skilled ICT Consultant who he could bounce ideas off of and maybe improve his or her skills
