FTP. Works internally. Only works extermally using 1 program
GlennT replied to mrforgetful's topic in Windows
Hi! From what I understand [i am no FTP expert!], there is a difference between the type of authentication used by dedicated ftp clients and web browsers. I think you will need to reconfigure your IIS server to use the correct authentication, see this link... Enabling and Configuring Authentication for more info. You may also need to look at your firewall to see if anything is being blocked. Good luck! -
Try running DCDIAG to see if anything shows up. You should also check DNS settings. Good luck!

Agreed. If you can afford it, get another 300gb drive and go for a Raid 5....

I think this should work but never done it myself. My guess would be that the 15k disks would just run at 10k. Could you not replace ALL the disks with 15k ones? If not, suggest you contact the server tech support people to clarify.

Have you got ISA Server? Is it one particular site or all sites?

Have you set the correct permissions on Exchange? Exchange Advanced > Mailbox Rights in AD?

You can delete all the drives like this.... Use * /DELETE Or a single drive like this..... Use H: /DELETE Then map them correctly like this.... Use H: "\\server\%username%$" Hope that helps? Glenn.

We are pretty tough on that sort of thing here..... they still seem to find a way around it though! -
Most commonly used internet security at schools
GlennT replied to grahambird's topic in Educational Software
From our school, the URL is blocked because it contains the word "Game". It may be worth asking the school in question to explicitly allow http://www.rspb.org.uk* in their filtering system? Glenn. -
Try using this, it's free..... DriveImage XML Backup Software

Sounds like the laser connection may be iffy? There is nothing that may be causing a problem [tree branch partialy in the way etc]? May also be worth checking any switches etc that are enroute.
-
Is the laser connection ok??

Is this any help?? Error message when you write a file to a server from a Windows XP-based or a Windows 2000-based computer: "Delayed Write Failed"

IIS running on ISA would pose a security risk if run as an edge firewall. I guess as you are using it to cache only you have something else between the ISA and the internet?

If it's purely for diagnostics, you can use UBCD on a stick from what I remember. UBCD for Windows

[news] Kerosene-soaked man dies after lighting up in police station
GlennT replied to ZeroHour's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
Kinda reminds me of the guy who had some kind of skin condition, admitted to hospital, covered in some kind of flammable gel then decides to slope off for a fag! Only in the west country! -
Might be worth getting him to concentrate on the most common commands i.e ping, ipconfig etc and make sure he gets those spot on? Good luck from me also!

From memory, I think they are about £100 each?
