  1. We moved from on-prem to cloud over the summer and are having loads of problems. Waiting an hour to get through on the phone only to speak to someone who has no idea what to do. Our account manager promised to get us bumped up the list with support and nothing of the sort happened. I knew going in that Civica support were useless, but it's been really hard work this week. We've got laggy performance, balances not working, fingerprints not coming across and all they do is take your details, hang up and never call back. They're equally slow to respond to tickets on their support page. I don't think the guy I'm talking to has the slightest clue how to fix our issues.
  2. Having the same issue here. We actually had it with last months cumulative update, which I pulled but it's back in the July one too. I have no idea what is causing it but it's affecting every device here. Even with a clean image and no GPO settings it does it, which led me to believe it was Smoothwall. I've tried putting it in web filter exceptions and opening up all ports on a specific device and it still won't work. If I remove the network cable and reboot it though, it works! I feel like something is being blocked somewhere, but I can't find it.
  3. Sorry to bump an old thread, but did you manage to change your IPs in the end? I am looking to do the same and have also been quoted £1650 which is absurd. I'm fairly certain all they have to do is edit some config files in notepad with the new IPs.
  4. We're now missing loads of kids photos all of a sudden since it came back up.
  5. There is a powershell script to remove it yes. https://helpdesk.realworld.net.au/hc/en-us/articles/20574619264281-Turn-off-Add-shortcut-to-OneDrive-in-SharePoint-Online-service That doesn't work on people who have already linked it with a shortcut. To cut them off you need this setting: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/prevent-users-from-downloading-content-from-a-site-98821ec7-cc99-4393-a002-f73370ba6694 Then they get a warning when they open OneDrive saying the Admin does not allow shortcut syncing and they have to press "Remove Shortcut/Folder" to get rid of the warning.
  6. Recently had a similar issue. We wanted to move one of our shared drives to SharePoint so staff can access the work at home. As you can imagine the drive is huge and teachers never delete old work out of it. If you try to use the "Add shortcut to OneDrive" option so they can save directly to it in file explorer, OneDrive has a complete meltdown trying to index 100,000s of files. I've had to remove the sync options for now but they're complaining that they can't save directly from Office 2021 to SharePoint.
  7. Hi Tom, We would definitely want the "Dedicated Teacher PC" function of Senso working. The teachers like the ability to see kids screens, lock them, broadcast to them etc. None of which are available in it's current state. The only way to get it working is to disable HTTPS inspection and decryption in Smoothwall, but that leaves us too open to kids getting on sites they shouldn't be on. By in-browser filtering, do you mean a chrome extension being installed like the cloud filtering?
  8. I've been chatting with both Senso and Smoothwall and 2 months on this still isn't resolved for us. The disablefilter file does work, but without the dedicated teacher pc functionality, Senso is pretty useless to us. The main purpose of it is to give the teachers management of the PCs in their room. Neither Senso nor Smoothwall are actively looking to fix this. I've been told by smoothwall I simply can't use both products and Senso are not going back to TLS 1.2. I don't suppose anyone else has had any more luck?
  9. Other way around. Senso have moved to 1.3 already but Smoothwall do not support it.
  10. We've been fairly happy with Senso since moving from Impero, but the new version with TLS 1.3 has ruined that unfortunately. Basically if you use HTTPS inspection and decryption in Smoothwall, which we do, then Senso's Dedicated Teacher PC function breaks. This is because Smoothwall don't support TLS 1.3 and Senso won't roll back to 1.2. Their tech support tried to convince me that most schools don't use the Dedicated Teacher PC function and are not affected by the change, but I find that hard to believe. The teachers in computer suites here really want those features and the software is useless to them without it. Looks like one of them will have to go and lets be honest it's not going to be Smoothwall!
