  1. Gemini Gems could do this. I have tested/created some myself and they work well.
  2. One of our schools moved from Kindersoft > Famly for their nursery management system. I didn't have much involvement other than the initial setup, however, I have heard they really like using it.
  3. Stone Refurb - https://www.stonerefurb.co.uk/
  4. I have been curating a sort of "list" to help identify the areas of where a central IT member would work well. So I have something to present to them. But like you say, if they are adamant - you can't change their minds. Every Trust around me locally have the relationship that you explained, Head of IT, and then the MSP as 2nd line that they work with. This appears to be a very good setup (from what I have heard).
  5. This doesn't fill me with much hope haha! joking - I am expecting news soon (I have prepared myself). Can you not push for a central role within the school/Trust? In my opinion, there still needs to be a central member of IT, as it just adds to the overall effectiveness of the support, and you know the staff/schools well.
  6. Interesting, I was a similar situation about ~12 months ago. Our trust merged with another Trust who solely used an MSP for support. They TUPE'd me across, but not to the MSP. My contract is still with the school.

  8. Yeah sorry, I didn't mean it in the way of "You should get 2 Mac Mini's instead" my bad - hadn't had my morning coffee yet lol...! I was just surprised, as I would want higher spec than that for £1000.
  9. You could get 2 x M4 Mac Minis for that!
  10. Pretty certain (providing you work in a school) that you can get this for £499, with Apple Education savings.
  11. We have about 120 1:1 Dell 3100 chromebooks. They were purchased last year, I haven't received any complaints about battery life issues (yet!) They have AUP until 2029, so I am hoping for them to last until then.
  12. This is standard behaviour for devices enrolled via AC2. Users have the ability leave your MDM for 30 days. After this time, the profile "locks" and they are no longer able to leave.
  13. SSO with Google via Mosyle or Shared iPad mode, is your only way to achieve this. Are you on the free tier for Mosyle currently? as to use their SSO feature you will need to upgrade.
  14. Glad it worked, not sure why they don't include that in the documentation to be honest. Lots of weird quirks with GCPW and WDM, that you kind of work out along the way. In my opinion, it's worth the stress though!
  15. I think another workaround is just deleting the leaver’s local account on the device and then letting the new member of staff sign in. GCPW will then use the next signed in user as the master account.
  16. I don't think it really matters to be honest. As it's essentially the same, but I think I just find it easier (for my brain lol) to base the permissions off a user group. But whatever works for you.
  17. This is the way^ If I used it again I would have three enrolment accounts. Student@ Staff@ SLT@ Then it doesn't matter who leaves/joins - as the device settings will still be correct for the user, and it won't need to be wiped/unenrolled. @TwistedHelixis - On the link I sent, it does state "If another user enrols in WDM their settings override the existing settings unless the value is Not Configured". But what I am reading from it, is that Bitlocker settings won't change, or any new windows settings you push to it, won't apply (until it's enrolled again).
  18. I believe (could be totally wrong) this is the downside to using the teachers own accounts to enrol them. I used this method, and used to just completely wipe the device and rebuild it. You can "unenroll" a device from the admin console, however... this only removes selected settings - https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/devices/unenroll-a-device-from-windows-device-management
  19. All they need to specify is the need/want for their personal information = SAR Request It can be directed to any member of the org/school as well, you can't specify.
  20. I have only ever used Phoenix and Softcat. No complaints from either to be honest.
  21. Looked into this a while ago, the UniFi AI horn looks interesting. Probably no where near the same level of features, compared to something like the Bodet. I am tempted to try one out though!
  22. We do exactly this. We have 4 x Google Pixel phones all managed within Google Workspace. Then a single account linked to all of them. This means that any photos taken on one of the phones will sync back to our central Google Photos. I have device approval and 2FA enabled for the account as well. This means that the account is secure, and can only really be used on these devices (Unless I approve a different device, or give out the password, which will never happen of course!)
  23. The most limiting factor of the free version, for me, is probably the lack of bulk operations. For example, you have to manually push out an update to each device instead of being able to select all of them at once. I just do them in chunks throughout the day. We moved from Lightspeed to Mosyle, and it saves us a significant amount every year. I wouldn’t recommend the free tier if you have hundreds of iPads, since bulk operations become essential. But for a small number of devices, it works well.
  24. Do you have old invoices/proof of purchase? If so, you can speak to the supplier of the iPads (If they are still around) and request for them to move the devices into a different ASM. I had to do this for multiple schools in my old Trust. If the above is not an option, you may need to use AC2 to manually move them.
