I didn't actually get the individual prices - I was only interested in the 'job lot'. I still have my inventory list that I sent him if you're interested in that? Alternatively, his website did say he was happy to email out his spreadsheet containing all his prices?

If not interested in selling/passing your cards onto someone who does still play, I can thoroughly recommend MTG Magic Singles, Sealed Products, Accessories - Arcane Cards for a place to sell. I packed up and sold a lot of my unused commander decks over the summer (about £450 worth) and they were really easy to sell to - just made an excel list of all the cards, sent it off to them for a quote which was then valid for a month or so.

Another one to highly recommend Wednesday, absolutely loved it from start to finish. Everything from it's humour, the storyline itself and the acting is just brilliant. I'm not saying it was 100% perfect, but it's one of the best things I've managed to watch this year.

Mine had the same with MTG cards - the CCTV recorded them breaking in via an access door upstairs, heading straight down to the cash register, ignoring the cash register and grabbing all the MTG sealed product from behind the counter, and then running off.

Having just had a browse of the online store I use to buy Magic The Gathering cards (who also sell pokemon) it seems that this is the case - all the Jumbo cards have seem to only be available as 'singles' - i.e. you have to buy them individually, there's no pack or box of them (and are up to around £2 each FWIW). However I will freely admit my knowledge of Pokemon, especially the cards, is extremely limited so I wouldn't place too much reliability on it! Another possible option would be to see if there are any local gaming stores in the area, as they are often happy to offer assistance/advice in translating 'gamer code' into understandable English - my local one certainly seems to be.

Depends where you are - most decent sized towns have a gaming club that operates one evening a week. Although yes, admittedly, public transport may be an issue - particularly in the next few weeks. I know from when my parents lived in the middle of the Forest of Dean that public transport was ... interesting. About one bus an hour. If you were lucky! At least if you have access to trains that should be more frequent/reliable (normally anyway).

I'm waiting on Darktide coming out on Xbox before I'm able to give it a go. Fat Shark have said "soon", but have not (last time I checked) put an actual date on it sadly. But the fact that it's day 1 on Game Pass is a bonus. Also waiting on GW to release WH40K v10 next year, as I'm not particularly enjoying 9th Edition rules (too much bookkeeping!) so my Iron Hands have sat in their case, un-played with, for coming up to 2 years. Although this does mean I've managed to expand into Bolt Action quite considerably!

I recently tried the ASDA Boxing Day Sandwich - Turkey, Ham, Cheesey Colseslaw, Balsamic Onion Chutney on White. It was fine, and probably tasted nicer than I thought it did - however my opinion of it was somewhat tarnished by the fact that it was an unintentional purchase and what I was really after was a 'proper' Christmas sandwich (turkey, cranberry, sausage/bacon), rather than a Boxing Day version. Next time I'm going to actually read the label rather than just making the assumption that red packet = 'proper' Christmas sandwich.

We started using it in September as we moved from using Keeping Kids Safe to EduLink, and the latter doesn't come with its own 'built in' SMS option, so in somewhat of a desperate search I came across this and managed to get our school signed up. It's all working well so far (as in the messages have at least been sent!), but we've not yet (that I'm aware of) gone past the 10,000 point so I'm not sure about charges etc.

Mortal Instruments (2013) is a solo film not related to the Shadowhunters (2016) TV series. Although from what I can gather both use the same source material (having watched the film and the first season/ish of Shadowhunters).

So, this answer relates to my previous employment (2018 - 2021) where we used Arbor, sadly my current school uses SIMS (for now!). When I initially joined, I must admit I did have some issues with Arbor support. It often felt like I was talking to more of a sales rep than someone with a technical understanding of what I was asking for/requesting (help with the assessment module was the most frequent issue). So it was a bit frustrating at times - promises of calls back that took a while to come through, not being able to resolve the issue etc. However, by the time I left, I could not have been happier. Admittedly the school had signed up for a support package, meaning we had a dedicated person to resolve our issues, but resolved they were - and quickly! Any support tickets/calls went direct to them, rather than through the 'general' support routes, and I was offered termly video updates to go through anything that was an issue (couldn't always utilise them due to other commitments). The final summer I was there, I even had someone come down and visit for the day to help me get everything set up properly for the following academic year, instead of just having to do it 'how I'd been taught' (which, incidentally, was the wrong way!) like I'd done for the previous two. On top of this, they seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say regarding developments and changes. I spoke, at some length, to James (the CEO) at their first 'Arborfest' back in 2020 about my issues and what I wanted out of the software. He explained their reasoning behind certain decisions they'd made but was also very keen for the feedback and to show me what they had planned for future developments, most of which I saw arrive before I moved schools. Sadly, I joined my current school too close to the SIMS '3 year deadline' to be able to influence the decision to renew, but if I'm still here when it comes to the next renewal time, I'm certainly going to be lobbying as strongly as I can for a change of MIS and preferably to Arbor. (FWIW - I'm a Date & Assessment Manager rather than 'IT')

Would that be with the new 40k Commander sets? My friends picked up all 4 between them, which is simultaneously relieving (as I don't have to try and find the money for them), but also frustrating as I now want them all the more

We use Wonde for quite a few things (FFT, Classcharts, Provision Map etc.) so I can confirm it can definitely write back to SIMS (as Rob said, dependent on the client app doing so). In terms of turn around, it's not instant - we bank on them happening overnight.

Both my wife and I go through various models of SE whenever our contracts are up, as neither of us particularly like the 'ever increasing size' Apple decided to start doing way back at like 7 (or 8? I can't remember). Never had any issues with them whatsoever. Apple phones seem to be, judging by the number of my elderly relatives who manage to use them without issue, fairly straight forward in terms of usage. So whilst there might be some learning curve coming from Android, from my experience, having had some exposure to smart phones will enable her to avoid the vast majority of the potential 'issues' a new Apple user could encounter.

I don't mind the hair so much, for me Elrond's issues are more to do with the squareness of his jaw/face as a whole. Maybe that's because it's just so different to Hugo Weaving's face.

We only use our tumble dryer for towels & similar (because they go hard and crusty if you let them air dry!) but everything else is left over a clothes horse. Most things dry within 24 hours (less in the summer when you can put it in the sunshine!) although some things like jeans you have to occasionally have to move/turn to ensure all of it dries.

I agree with the numerous story strands, though sadly that seems to be a common theme amongst modern 'fantasy/sci-fi' programmes. I remember watching the first few GoT episodes wondering how, exactly, the stories of the various groups of people were actually going to be relevant to each other (I hadn't read the books beforehand). Luckily for LoTR I know a little bit more so am able to connect a few more of the dots behind the scenes. Overall, loving the series so far - it's pretty much exactly what I expected it to be.

As someone who is involved with the Exams department, it's much more interesting (see: alarming) when an official DfE White Paper talks about an aim being to increase the average GCSE English & Maths grades! GCSEs are marked on a curve, so the same (approximate) percentage of students will achieve each grade each year. So if they want the average grade to increase, there's nothing schools/teachers/students can do to achieve this - they need to tell the exam boards to change their grading boundaries! Almost comparable to a previous Education secretary who claimed they wanted to see "all schools achieve above average results"
