  1. Hi, Having an issue today with the printserver, when i do a Gpupdate/force its saying the user policy has updated successfully but the Computer policy could not be updated successfully.. C:\Users\Administrator.DOMAIN>gpupdate /force Updating Policy... User Policy update has completed successfully. Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\DOMAIN.local\sysvol\DOMAIN.local\Policies\{FF122C7B-DC32-4153-A453-76451C39DCDD}\g pt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller. b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller). c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled. To diagnose the failure, review the event log or invoke gpmc.msc to access infor mation about Group Policy results. If I gpupdate form any other server it works fine!

  11. Hi Guys, I need to turn UAC off so a printer driver can be installed round all the PC's without asking for a username and password for install I have tried this Enter GPedit.msc in Start Search to run Local Group Policy editor. (Or gpmc.msc to run Group Policy Management Console for AD-based domain GPO editor). Navigate to the following tree branch:Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security OptionsIn GPMC, browse to the required GPO which is linked to the domain or OU where the policy wants to apply. Locate the following policy in the right pane:User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval ModeSet its value to Elevate without prompt. Locate the following policy in the right pane:User Account Control: Detect application installations and prompt for elevationSet its value to Disabled. Locate the following policy in the right pane:User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval ModeSet its value to Disabled. Locate the following policy in the right pane:User Account Control: Only elevate UIAccess applications that are installed in secure locationsSet its value to Disabled. Restart the computer when done. But still no luck, I have made another GPO called Remove UAC and still doesn't work.. Any ideas please.. Thanks

  16. Sorry bit of a newbie to this, Do I just C:\Program Files\SafeCom\SafeComAppPrint\unins000.exe /SILENT to the VBS script or is there extra lines I need to add?
  17. Great got it to work with silent on the end but I need it to uninstall when I user logs on and it asks for a username and Passoword as the don't have rights to install or Uninstall - Any way round this?
  18. I need to unstall a program, On over 100 Pc's C:\Program Files\SafeCom\SafeComAppPrint\unins000.exe What is the best way of doing this and in silent mode if poss as well. Users need admin rights to install and Uninstall so would need that sorted as well. Thanks

    GPO Problems

Hi Guys, I have had Windows 2008r2 and Windows 7 setup and running fine for the past year, but two days I noticed some users have the full GPO pulled over and some users dont have it at all. The Home Drives come up fine. I took one machine and tested it with two users, one user has a fully locked down PC which is good but another user in the same group has full accsess to the machine. I have rebooted the DC's, when I done a gpupdate /force on the DC it did come back with an error but this has been fixed now. I have also put a new image onto the PC just to see if this was the cause but still no luck. Any help on this would be great.
  25. I just cleared all the old build accounts from AD and its worked. Nice one Cheers.
