  1. They just don't seem to be able to unblock what I need. We have students in the boarding school and they currently cannot connect using PS3'd Xboxs, on-line gaming on a PC. I do have smoothwall in place as well, but LGFL dont help. Option 2 may be a way to go as well.
  2. Guys, Has anyone gone with LGFL then come away from them? Having a nightmare with them and unblocking ports for the boarding school to use games, PS3 Xbox and so on. Be good to hear views.
  3. Hi, My school have put in an order for a load of Ipad Airs, Macbooks as well and I want to know what the best way of setting this up and lock them down and be able to use AD accounts to be able to log into them. 4. Hi Guys, I have this years new students which are currently in Sims.net and wanted to know if there is an easy way for me to get them into AD ( Server 2012 ) instead of making the accounts one by one. Any advice would be great. Thanks A
  5. Hi Guys, I have a Windows 2012 Print Server with Windows 7 Clients and want to know how you guys have set-up printers for users?? The school has so many printers, so I need it to be set up in a way that when a user goes into a certain room ( IT Room ) they get that printer in that room mapped automatically for them, also another one is so all Admin reception staff get the printer in the admin area defaulted to them as well and not one half way around the school. I was looking at Print Management on the server and deploying printers via GPO but I can't see a way to set it up so they get the closest printer to them. Any help would be great. Thanks
  6. Hi Guys, Just has a new digital signage system installed with OneLan. Now I want to ask who has this system and what procedure staff use to get info up on the screen? Do different people manage certain screens? one persons manage all the screens? Thanks

  8. Hi, I am running Windows 7 on clients and Office2010, server is 2008r2, now I want outlook to auto set-up rather than the user have to click next and finish to add an email account to outlook they are using, as if they change PC they have to go through this all again. Is there a way of doing this? Thanks
  9. We have moved the functional level to Windows 2008 R2 as well and the server is 32bit 2008!
  10. When i look at Sysvol on the two DC's it is the same! and \\DOMAIN.local\sysvol\DOMAIN.local\Policies\{31B2F 340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\ exist on both
  11. Yes I can
  12. Hi, Am still having a problem on my printerserver, when I run gpupdate /force is says users policy was updated but Computer couldn't b updated. Its saying it cant read the Default Domain Policy GPO Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001] Copyright © 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\administrator.DOMAIN>gpupdate /force Updating Policy... User Policy update has completed successfully. Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were enc ountered: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\DOMAIN.local\sysvol\DOMAIN.local\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\g pt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings ma y not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and c ould be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller. b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller). c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled. So I built another sever using Server 2008 and once it was built ran it again and same error! Would moving the functional level on the DC to Server 2008 r2 cause this?
  13. Bump. Hitting a wall with this
  14. Still having problems with this, I don't really want to flatten the server and start again
  15. even without this i shouldn't be getting this error when doing a gp-update on the printserver.. May have to flatten it and build it again.
  16. Windows Server 2008 Domain Controllers fail NcSecDesc (Naming Context Security Descriptors) test when dcdiag is run - Ravindra Pamidi's Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs Says if I don't plan to run RODC then disregard this message
  17. On the problem server it does point to itself first, this was one of the first things I checked.
  18. What's the easiest way of finding out what GPO this is without having to go through them all \\DOMAIN.local\SYSVOL\DOMAIN.local\Policies\{FF122C7B-DC32-4153-A453-76451C39DCDD}
  19. Just done that, everything is spot on except still same problem.
  20. Still get the error when i do DCDiag
  21. I tried that and still get the error
  22. DNS looks OK on all the servers
