  1. I know of a MAT who moved from Sims to Arbor this year and another which moved from Sims to Bromcom. I think both wish they had stayed with Sims.
  2. Hi I am a bit biased because I used to do some consultancy work for Edval but for what it's worth... Edval is, in my opinion, streets ahead of any other piece of software in terms of its ability to deal with complex timetable scenarios. BUT it's quite complicated to use and also very different to other software and therefore novice users can find it really difficult to achieve the timetable they're aiming for, particularly in their first year. For info: Edval will sync to all the major MIS but some of them make it more hard work than it should be!
  3. Hi thanks for your reply. I have always used Method 1 but am now working with some schools who use Method 2 and other schools who are not clear about what they want! Interested in hearing from schools about their rationale for choosing either method.
  4. Sims advocate two possible methods for setting up registration periods. Either using the Sims pastoral structure (often in conjunction with a Non class code for cover purposes) or by setting up timetabled essons for registration. Interested to hear pros and cons for both methods. Also if a school sets up timetabled lessons for registration, does this mean that Lesson Monitor Setup still needs to be done or is it redundant? Thanks
