  1. Hi psydii, That's great, thank you! I'll look into that now.
  2. Hi Everyone, Our Music department are looking at getting some mixing software but so far, their suggestions don't seem to be compatible with our setup (they either don't have the option for a silent install or they allow direct access to the C drive). Does anyone have any suggestions they could recommend? We have looked at: Rekordbox, Serato Lite as well as Mixxx. With thanks Joe
  3. Same here - we're getting either that or weird formatting issues.
  4. Hi Everyone, Has anyone made the move away from using Trend Micro Hosted Email Security? We use Office 365 for our emails here and as part of moving to a Trust, we won't be using Trend Micro any longer. I remember back when we first set up HES years ago that we had to include MX records and do things in the background in Office 365, but it's been so long that I can't quite remember what! I would log a call with Trend Micro but can't seem to log an account on their site as our Activation Keys don't work despite being valid until July 2026. Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated! With thanks ICT-Joe
  5. We have had a few reports of a similar issue here - but it's not side-wide annoyingly as I can still log in fine.
  6. I've just dug out the PS2, so right now, I'm playing the Tony Hawks Underground games as well as GTA Liberty City Stories. I can't think of anything modern that I would play at the moment other than WWE 2K25.
  7. We don't have nay involvement here - the closest we get to this is when we have to update the Digital Signage, but we're trying to move that from our department now.
  8. Had the same issue as mikes here when trying to install Python via a batch file - it would install and then uninstall every reboot. In the end, I had to add a line as follows: if exist "c:\Program Files\Python" exit Hope this helps!
  9. How did you assign the software using GPO - was it an MSI or did you write a custom script to install the software?
  10. Similar answer to Steve - it's a split here. Now we're using more cameras that go on the network, we purchase them, a third party installs them, and then the Estates team keeps track of things like viewing angles and recording downloads. Once they are installed, we only get involved should they go offline. We were initially involved with changing the camera angles but pushed back on this as this was deemed beyond our remit. Regarding doors, we were asked to purchase a printer but other than setting up online readers, that's where we end our support; Admin print the cards and Estates set up the door access.
  11. Is it worth restarting the RM Service Host on the server? We've moved away from RM but I remember this was one thing we used to do if the RMMC wasn't quite working correctly, so it may possible be worth a shot? Also, can the end user browse to RM Staff via Windows Explorer (i.e. can they just type in \\SERVERNAME\RMStaff?
  12. Thank you Haci - I will take a look at this thread now! We had to start hosting SIMS and have done since February but SIMS has been working until relatively recently on this PC.
  13. Thank you psydii - I will take a look at that. The connection does go through a phone which limits the speed! It is a technology room as well so putting it down to Layer 1/2 is worth looking at - could be cable damage! I've had a little bit of experiencing with Wireshark when testing issues with Smoothwall so will take a look on this device as well.
  14. Thank you for responding! I have asked if other teachers can use that PC but the room isn't in use until Monday.
  15. Thank you for your suggestion - I've had a look at this and it is the same on the working machine.
  16. Good Morning, Recently, one of our users has an error every time they press Save on their register in SIMS. They get an error saying "Transaction (Process ID 214) was deadlocked on resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction : System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException" but the Process ID number can change in the message. Annoyingly, even after a fresh rebuild of the PC they are using, they still get the same error. However, the error only occurs on this one PC - if the user moves to another PC, it works fine. Has anyone had this issue before? Any help greatly appreciated! With thanks Joe
  17. We've had a few issues recently where users have changed their domain password and it's not replicated through to the Room Booking software (we're using LDAP). When I've tested the LDAP Authentication, I can test with one account and say it does work, then try again and it says it doesn't.
  18. Thank you all - new to PowerShell as well, so looks like I've got some reading up to do! Thank you for your replies!
  19. Good Afternoon, I've been asked to look into installing Python and Pygame on our network. Has anyone recently got both installed successfully? I'm having a bit of an issue installing Python via GPO so any help would be greatly appreciated!
  20. Yes, we are having timeout / 504 Bad Gateway errors here this morning.
  21. Thank you howartp - I will add that to my tasks to looks at! At the moment, our hosts use a set time rather than a time server. The DC in question uses a few time servers and the subsequent servers use that DC time, which is how I think everything gets thrown out after that!
  22. Good Morning, We have been having an issue recently on one of our virtual DCs (Windows Server 2019) – since installing the latest Windows Updates, the time keeps reverting to a random year and time. When this happens, the machine freezes and I have to hard reboot it in VMware. After a hard reboot, I usually check the BIOS time, which is wrong and has to be manually set, which can stay up anywhere between 10 minutes to a week, and then the issue reoccurs. The DC looks to use a couple of time servers and not the host it is sat but I checked the host just in case and the time is set correctly. Is there an easy way to determine what time is throwing out the other (so, whether the server time throws off the BIOS or the other way around). I think I need to remove the updates as well but just wanted some advice with the time issue as well. New to VMware so any help greatly appreciated! With thanks ICT-Joe
  23. Glad I logged into Edugeek this morning as we have been experiencing the same issues but with Read and Write Gold! Both AQA papers we had have had this issue (yesterday, it was Drama. Today it was Biology). I did remember years ago that RWG does have a scan feature so this was a workaround but not best during the quick turnaround in the morning.
  24. Our school has stopped the ability for everyone to send out All Staff emails. If people do email All Staff, it goes to a few people to either be approved or denied. We just have a newsletter at the end of the week and if there is anything urgent (like clubs being cancelled), the headteacher's secretary sends an email to everyone.
  25. Don't know if this is the correct path but is it worth seeing if the proxy file is under: c:\users\public\surpass\...\proxy.xml Surpass - Secure Client (what a pain) - Page 5 (edugeek.net) This was from three years ago so may be out of date though
