We got around this issue by adding a Junction Point to our x32 image to point Program Files (x86) to Program Files. Then all shortcuts worked on both versions.

HI, Just come across the system and must admit am very impressed with it, like the simple clean look and plan to implement it in our school. One question though is can the system send an email when a booking is made on particular rooms? When setting up a room could you nominate an email address to notify of the user that has booked it? I must add though, (apologies for not putting this in my original post), that credentials in the local domain are different than that in the remote domain. Remote domain credentials are required for filtering of staff against students, hence why I wondered if ADFS was of any use as local and remote domain credentials can remain the same but a group be 'agreed' for authorised access. Smoothwall and ISA will assume a single identity from the local domain and not differentiate users

I thought I'd open this problem up to hopefully get some different perspectives. The problem is as follows: As a school we support our primary cluster in their ICT and for a significant period of time now they have had to authenticate against our GFL proxy to gain internet access. It has always been a problem to the teachers in the primary's to try and get young children to remember the log on details, and the initial concept of authenticating was to track users browsing habits. This never materialised though and is now used for filtering. I'm looking for ideas really how I can get rid of the secondary authentication for internet access. The primary schools log on to the computers within school, all have Windows Server 2003 DC. The secondary authentication then ties into the GFL Smoothwall filtering and I do not think that an ISA server in each school is a viable option as they would then require local filtering also which is unpractical. Google throws up interesting options such as ADFS but haven't really found any references to using it in a situation such as this. Just wanted to get the opinion of others to see if they've encountered this issue and/or solved it. I appreciate any replies.

Hi Guys, Just thought I'd throw this in as an alternative. It's a powershell script that will find all files for a specified file type (swf at the present) but ignore them if it's a particular file name. It will then move them to an alternate location but recreate the file structure so should you catch anything that is legitimate then it can easily be moved back. We've set up a share that only the staff can access where these files get moved to so that they don't have to find one of us techies should they need it moving back. Hope it helps. Here's the link. somabc that looks a very interesting link, thank you. I will take a look at that in the next few days. I think it goes back now to your question as to if anyone has any good coding skills? Unfortuantely I don't myself but would love to hear from anyone that does in relation to this project. My original thought was whether like Dropbox there could be a server/client app that will perform synchronisation via the internet, but rather than have the document stored in the 'cloud' that is then retrieved it is stored on our internal file servers. Then when the user comes in from outside the school they have access to the document they worked on, as well as similarly a revision history and the other nice features that Dropbox provides. Could DeltaCopy do such a thing if you had WebDav set up? It could then authenticate via LDAP as to get the Users home directory. Just another thought for the mix.
