Hi all,

 

What's the recommendation for nursery-proof iPad cases? I remember seeing some ones like tea trays at BETT, but cannot for the life of me remember who actually made/sold them!

 

Any help/advice appreciated.

Otterbox cases are pretty much indestructible and work. There was one at BETT that was prettier, but I can't remember the company name. They were up by the back wall if that helps to jog anyone's memory.

We've got a few of these for our less dexterous students (we're a special school so needed something that a) they could grip easily and b) if they dropped it, would most probably protect our investment)

These OverBoard aren't shock proof, but they are water proof and with a rope round your neck and a handle at the back, they are drop-resistant. I think it was @Rharris who had one for an iPad at BETT. He got it from eBay for next to nothing.They'd be good for use by staff in the outdoor area of Early Years!

One of my schools (a special) uses BigGrips cases to very good effect. They *have* been tested.

We've got some Griffin Survivor iPad cases. They're pretty solid (Yes, I've tried dropping some) and not too expensive either.

It seems pretty robust, but it does make it harder to attach the cable for charging.

We got the Speck iGuy cases for our Nursery.

 

Pros: Nice and bouncy and look the part. I configured a big cartoon smiley face as the backdrop and they look awesome.

 

Cons: Doesn't fit quite as snugly as I'd like, and the arms aren't as rigid as you'd expect. They are more useful for hooking your hands under than as a handle. If you stand them up as the picture suggests, they are a bit wobbly: tap the screen with any real force and they fall straight over.
