JamesDonkin Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I'm in the process of boarding the loft out for storage, should be finished tonight. Fitting plug sockets on Saturday so the house PC/media server and Sky box can live up there. It's been in the spare room for a while connected to various displays around the house with a wireless keyboard/touchpad mouse thing we use to control it. Now it'll be completely out of the way. I haven't checked yet but I'm hoping the bios allows power on via key press or the whole plan's out of the window until I rethink it (long wire on power button maybe?).

Rawns Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Ha, no..just a big-ish enclosure we built on so they can have external access and we don't need to worry about any harm befalling. Mind you, the whole "leg it through the dining room, hit the table, leap through the serving hatch, exit through catflap1 to the utility, exit flap #2 to outside, come hurtling back in the window, rinse and repeat" routine can be a bit of a trial when all 3 decide to play. Kids think it's funny though..which to be fair, it is quite. I'm guessing you have a breed of indoor cat then?
Sirbendy Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Nope.. 3 moggies, but it's not uncommon in our area for things to happen to unwary animals, and I'd rather they were secure. Besides, at least 2 of the 3 I reckon are too daft to be cautious.
BJG Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Start looking into developing android apps I recently started looking at Gideros Studio which seems a good way in. Gideros Mobile There's a free version available (apps have a splashscreen), works with Android and iOS. It's based on Lua with a framework which resembles Actionscript. Edited February 8, 2013 by BJG
Danp Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Tweeking with my Server2008R2 that I setup last weekend. Now have my daughters logging in as a restricted domain user on any computer in the house getting their shared files. Nothing that ground breaking I know, but it's nice to have it running at home to play about with.

pcstru Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 digging this one back up to see if any completed? Plus its a bank holiday weekend so wondered if people had plans? Of my list : Finishing off my man cave : 95% Complete. Just a few little bits to do - mostly painting or attending to 'settling plaster'. Well, apart from the kitchen. Making some wooden trinket boxes with inlaid veneer on top (for valentines present) : Complete. Seemed to go down well. Making a sign for the house : Complete. Finishing a wooden clock : Small progress. Did a wooden faced maze clock in between, but that's a cheat using an off the shelf quartz mechanism. Wooden gears is where it's at! Quad copter : No progress at all. Absolutely none. Zilch.
CAM Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) Hmmm current plans for weekend and after work. - Test SilverStripe blog platform. - Finish building personal website page structure (probably end up with this list on it!). - Create custom SilverStripe theme. - Have a damn good tidy up in the house! witch Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Change the locks, sons have a tendency to return:p If he does, he is welcome - but I don't think he will unless he breaks up with his girlfriend - or she finds that he is impossible to live with
cobra427col Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) Had to look at daughters laptop - she fell asleep friday night with it still on her knee and it fell to the floor hitting the corner with the charger plug in.. Not too bad as the socket is on a fly lead and its split the socket moulding - lucky its not one with the socket soldered onto the mainboard.. I'm making her sweat though as I've told her I cant remember what went where.. Plus I've got a tub with old laptop screws in - so when I do give it back - I'll chuck a few old screws in the bin and say that there's always bits left over that aren't needed.. Aaaand this weekend - service the rotovator:( Edited April 29, 2013 by cobra427col
pcstru Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Helping my son leave home and move in with his girlfriend. Clearing up the resultant mess left in my house I suspect this weekend will be somewhat the opposite. Stepdaughter No3 is moving in with us ... apparently for a year until she goes off to uni. My life is over!!
