Good Morning Everyone,

I am new to my post and looking for a LAN toolkit to tidy up a mess the previous chap left behind in the nursery,

There is a 3-com 48 port switch screwed to the wall, all the cat 5 cables come through the wall and have RJ45 connections

on the end of them.

It doesn't look very nice and its not professional so I would like to order a cab and a patch panel and re-cable it all

but I dont have a tool kit, it would have to have the obvious tools in it for crimping and punching down etc...

but also some sort of device to identify which cable goes to which socket would be nice.

I have seen this but has anyone seen anything better ???

Cheers in advance

Stan.

I would just buy a crimper, cable clippers, Punchdown tool, Cyclops, bag of RJ45's and a cable tester, all you need really. The pack from screwfix is not bad. Edited by Disease

Too many things you don't need.

RJ45 Crimp

Good Side Clippers

Punchdown

Add a good multihead screwdriver and a £2 chineese ebay cable tester and you will be fine.

This is what I have got - well some of it used to belong to mrwITch - and it is all I ever need :)
