I am looking for a home phone and broadband provider that can do working line take over.

I also looking for one which will upgrade me to fibre when my exchange becomes available.

I went from cr@p BT to good Sky to brilliant Sky fiber and would recommend sky :)

We moved lock, stock and barrel. Our phoneline went over to them too. We have free calls, including some international calls and fast, stable internet :)

I don't use them as they aren't at my exchange but heard very good things about BeThere and O2. O2 own BeThere but seem to let them run themselves. If your mobile phone is with O2 then you get a discount.

I am with Be there but they say that I need a MAC to do a working line take over.

Yes, you probably do need a MAC, is your current provider refusing to give you a MAC?

I was with Be and was quite happy with the service until I learned that I was paying pretty much the same rates as fibre speeds and I was only on ADSL2 getting 9Mbps. (I was paying about £33/Month for phone and broadband). I switched to Virgin Media (XL60Mb - £32.40/Month, half price for first 6 months) who were best priced for me and I preferred it over the options of BT Infinity or Sky Unlimited Fibre who were both more expensive. If you are in a cable area, I'd recommend VM, otherwise your best bet is Sky Unlimited Fibre and you don't need a TV subscription.

I use Force9 (now Plusnet) for my BB and have always found them to be excellent, great support. Don't use them for phone but the broadband has always been excellent.

Plusnet also known as BT :)

I really annoying it is going to be a week with out broadband even if I do a working line take over with Plusnet.

I am not sure I made the right choose the current owners of the house would not provide me with a MAC. So I ordered Plusnet as it is a 1 month contract and I don't want to be in a 12 month contact as FTTC is on the way this year.

Cable is cheap and cheerful. The tech support from Virgin is incompetent and if you are in an area that is over subscribed you will never ever get the speeds advertised (check on the support forums for your Post Code District).

As for DSL, I've used Be (Great), Demon, Plusnet, Eclipse, Zen (all good), Sky (varies) and BT (varies massively).
