chrisa Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I have a couple of schools trying to move away from Apple Mac's that might be interested. Do they come with and O/S? How much are you looking for?
timbo343 Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 Yeah they come with an OS, win XP Pro. About £40 a machine.
_Bat_ Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 You are about three months too late . I was looking for something just like these then .

fooby Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 If we had the money...... Just bought 70 systems, we haven't got that much more at the mo. ebay? fooby
timbo343 Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 we can only ebay if they are businesses, i think
timbo343 Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 nah. well. apart from one, a guy at work knows of an architect company that might want a few, but apart from that nah.. nobody wants them.
contink Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Damn it... I missed this... Any chance you could do a little tweaking or pulling parts for a little extra cost... I've got one school that could really benefit from 5 of these units but it'd be useful to shift the RAM up to 1Gb (assuming all the ports weren't taken already)... Only question I have is whether or not those network cards are RIS compat'? (I'm guessing the 530's are as you've added them to the onboard LAN).
timbo343 Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Unfortunately not, They come as they are, otherwise we will have machines that are no good to anyone, and the dlinks dont have this PXE chips on them but we have a couple in boxes tho.

timbo343 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 these machines are still sat in our server room if anyone wants any. Now bought the price down to £20 per machine. Anyone want any?
leon Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Sorry Tim, I forgot to get back to you. My friend is a lazy git and wouldn't collect. Hope you sell them cause £20 is a good price. I've emailed this link to some colleagues in York schools.
Geoff Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I've let my boss know about this thread. I think I missed it the first time round. Thanks for bumping it.
bensewell Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 £20.00 Thats a right price, I'll tell some of our Barnsley Primary schools. They still have some crappy HP Brios for sale. Windoze 98 is mint when it breaks....
contink Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I've got a new school I'm starting with and these would fit their budget perfectly... Will call them now and get a PM to you in the next couple of hours.
