When one of our images was rolled out the region settings got over looked. Now all the PC's are set to "US" not "UK" As a result the @ key and the " key are the wrong way round on the keyboard. If we change the region settings in control panel when we reboot and logon as a different user the settings go back to "US" I have added a VB Script to the logon to change the HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1 value but is hasn't made a difference. Anyone got any ideas?

I hope someone can help me out. Our internet provided by the LEA requires the users to login when they open up IE (In a normal windows box). Is their any way we can script this as the KS1 kids are having trouble typing in the massive usernames the LEA have givin them. Thanks in advance!

Keyboards are so cheap now its just as easy to buy replacements. Also if you bolt them down you know in a years time they will have found a new use for the room and everything will need relocating somewhere

Using your position as an ICT Technician. What kind of geeky practical jokes have you played on people? I'll start us off: We had a new guy start in the IT Department. When he went out on his first job of the day we took a screen shot of his full desktop, Set it as his wallpaper and then edited his local GP to hide all desktop icons. When he came back in he was trying to open IE but was complaining that the icon didn't work. I was on dinner at the time and when I came back he was halfway through a re-install

It saves so much support time if you give them local admin and let them get on with it. Thats what we do anyway

Are you running Server 2003? If you are download GPMC from the microsoft site. You can use this to see what policies are effecting certain OU's just to make sure that you haven't missed it somewhere in AD
