Advice on a mobile battery powered wifi printer for iPad

Hi,

 

I've been asked to source a printer for our principal to use with his iPad when he's away from College, to use when at other schools, for example.

The criteria are, it needs to be very small and portable, have wifi, be battery powered and be able to print documents from the iPad.

 

Before I go too far i thought I'd see if anyone else has come across the need to do this and who has a recommended solution or any advice.

Hi.

 

Got no responses, so I guess nobody's come across the need, but if its useful for anyone in the future, we ended up with the best printer being a HP Officejet 100 Mobile, but connecting it to an iPad simply is a nightmare. Instead we have recommended to our principal that he buys an android tablet instead as this will (very ironically) 'just work'. So much for Apple's simplicity.

I found a way to set up a mobile printer to

work with iPad, but it requires you have an iPad with the mobile hotspot

feature. I've created a parts list and a youtube video to help you get it set

I can't see any reason why this would be needed?

 

Just email it to a contact at the particular school and have them print it out?
