Have you done any ParkRuns? I'm assuming theres one in N'hampton...

Yeah I've did about a dozen back in 2012 but it's been a while. I always fancied doing the MK one as the route looked a lot nicer. Should probably get back into it again as running by myself is nice but it's slightly more competitive with the Park Run. Even if it's just a case of making sure you can keep up with the nice brunette with the nice behind :)

I'm currently using my old man's old bike... which is a bit too big for me , hes 6 foot 1 im 5 foot 8.... currently no money to purchase my own bike.... might use the 6 weeks off work in the summer to my advantage, thinking of joining a local gym club for £20 a month that includes use of the swimming pool...

£20 !!!! thats cheap as chips man..blimey looking at £30+ here (Leighton Buzzard) for the gym with a swimming pool anyway...and its full of kids from upper school.

It's gone down in price, that place used to be £32 a few years ago, it's dropped because the likes of KissGyms and PureGyms have opened (24 hour monitored gyms) and they are about £16 a month. they are only gyms though, no pools etc...

this other gym also includes free badminton bookings.... i enjoy badminton, but again, shins.

What's the killer bit? I'm guessing a big hill?

There's a staircase that goes up about 50 foot, but there's a zigzag path that you have to go up instead...it kills me anyway!

I'm training for tough mudder in september and I am looking to shape up. Started proper training just over 2 weeks ago and I was 10st 8lbs. Since then I've lost 4.5 lbs as of my weigh in on Monday. I don't really have a target weight, just a target waistline. Wanna be 30". Tonight is measure night so will see how it is going.

Well done @Iain.Faulkner that's totes amazeballs!

I've been pretty good this week (with a few profiterole shaped slips off the wagon) but next week I'm off to the Lake District which I imagine will involve lots of drinking and eating. Hoping the amount of walking we do will keep me from piling on the pounds. So hard to behave when you're on holiday and eating out all the time!

With my friend flaking out here and there with going to the gym I am surprised I am still going consistently which is good :D. Starting to see a difference in my physique which is cool and scary because I have never been this thin before so freaks me out. Just bought a nutribullet last week and impressed with it so far just literally started using it so can't say anything just yet. Hope everyone else is going well!

I've asked the Dr to come off my current medications, they're causing addictive traits which I cannot stop - specifically Soft drinks. I have a need to have them, yet before taking the meds, I never really liked them that much. Need to shift them in order to help myself get rid of the habbit for the drinks and try to get fitter (You know its bad when 3XL shirts no longer fit and 4XL are tight). When I started the meds I was just plain XL :( Edited by featured_spectre

You only weigh 4 1/2 stone?

Do you think you might be overdoing it a bit? :)

Hoping to step up my fitness regime (i use that term loosely, looser than a wizard's sleeve) come next week when i'm no longer at work, plan to go out on the bike a fair bit, maybe even bike to the gym , do gym stuff, then bike back, as gym isn't all too far away.

Got the issue with my shins, that's eased off a lot lately, but i think thats coz i haven't played football / gone out for a run.... the vicious cycle continues. (no pun intended)

Genuinely didn't mean the cycle pun...

That's amazing! I deadlifted 90kg on Saturday... not bad to say I only weigh 60 :-P

Started the gym 3 weeks ago today.

Week 1 > Weight loss of 17.6lbs

Week 2 > Weight gain of 9.6lbs (PT thinks muscle mass in legs, arms and chest has increased significantly as I have lost 3% body fat compared to starting week).

Week 3 > in progress

In the nicest possible way and i don't wish to be rude, I dont think that's right. 17.6lbs in a week, that's over 1 kilo per day! General consensus is caloric deficit of 500 calories per day equates to a 1-2 lb per week generally but at a stretch 5 lb wouldn't be un-achievable (give or take depending on how high/low your BMI is to begin with).

Again a 10lb weight gain in a single week would be insane.

I think your first weigh-in must have been waaayyyy off which is causing the skewy results. I think most likely you've lost 8lbs over the two weeks (17.9 - 9.6). I don't wish to disparage as 8lb over 2 weeks is truly fantastic going, it really is so well done buddy :)
