speckytecky Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I have a friend who is trying to move his Camcorder tape collection to his PC to enable him to transfer his collection to DVD, he has decent software but it's not happening. Bit scant details at present but any suggestions please?
TechieWils Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Pinnacle studio 11 came with a usb to rgb connector/s video, connect it fire up the software. Couple of clicks press play and come back later jobs done. Did it a few times at work. To be honest there's probably a million ways to do it. Hope that helps though.

S.C. Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 If he's prepared to spend the money, we use GrassValley ADVC-55s which input analogue and output firewire. Alongside ScenAlyzer which is video capture with a stop timer, it takes ALL the hassle out of digitising. ADVC55 ~ £150 1

How is he trying to import the video into his computer, you say it's not happening. Does that mean it's not working? If he is using a firewire connection and it's not working, that's normally down to camera settings but that's going to be the least loosey way to do it. If it's analogue, then it needs to be converted to digital using a device as mentioned above. Again, from what you say, your friend has the means to transfer the video but can't get it to work. If it is a HDD digital camera, you can connect to the computer usb port and you can treat it as an external drive. Likewise, with card based cameras. 1
