Blimey Ben, they aren't cheap!

I would love one myself - I first saw them whilst visiting unis with my daughter - they were called 3D prototyping machines then. Wish I could afford one.

*what are you going to use it for?

I want to build one of ours now but have to wait until the new year as it's a project with students.

Ben

Surely you have to do one now to make sure all the bits are there, familiarise yourself with the building so you can help the kids, work out any caveats or issues you can explain to the kids and have one working to demonstrate what the finished article looks like..... They can play with the other one.

Hehe happy to print plastic components for people at filament cost + postage.

Ben

Watch this:

If you can make that as components [tail, hair, body, eyes, iris] in colour... With peg/hole connectors to put it together.

Yes you could and you could use water soliable plastics and make it as one model, then dip it in water and watch then all come loose for a perfect fit

It's to early in the afternoon to think...

I was actually just thinking of a full colour version. Which it totally possible as a single figure because you can do parts in different colours.

@plexer make me a colour version please? I'll be your best friend... FOREVER!

I have no idea how I'm going to get any moniez to you to pay for it...

I may need to look into making my own. [Apparently the guy who did the video you linked made his with parts from a printer and a scanner.]

Realistically, how cheap is it to print something with it? Are the materials expensive, or is most of the cost just for the machine itself?

C'mon, you've had this for 2 months now, you've got to have decided what your first print will be. Let's hear it :D
