eddyc Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Hi all, I'm a bit lost with no wallpaper in the rdp sessions in server 2012 - is it possible to get the wallpaper back. I still use BG info and when I am whizzing between sessions, I find it really useful to have the server name on the desktop. I've tried desktopinfo, but it has been flakey and often crashes . Thanks!
MatthewL Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Rather than putting desktop wallpapers on servers I would recommend using this as its easier to manage which machine you are connected to. 1
eejit Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I use that Matt, and it is great, but how do you actually log off Server 2012? :S When you can't use the Windows key in a non-full-desktop remote session (that I know of, pressing Win-key opens the local copy) you miss out a lot of the possible options. I know I generally have to open cmd and type "shutdown -l" Am I missing something?
localzuk Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 To log off, mouse to bottom right of screen and click the Start window that pops up, then click on the username in the top right of the start screen and choose 'Sign out'.
EduTech Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Not sure how to log off not used it yet. :-) at desktop press ALT+F4 LOL
