Has anyone got a link to a decent free screensaver (or something similar) that I can use in one of my schools? The panel in the reception area is currently semi-obscured by a Christmas tree and turned off, but I thought it would be nice to have something running on it.

I posted this YouTube video in another thread last week:

Or how about this play list of 41 videos on the same YouTube page:

As a treat for our kids, I've deployed this Christmas screensaver to them for December:

Kelly Software - Snow Screen Saver - the homepage for the snow screensaver

I used GPP to copy that .scr file to C:\Windows\kssnow.scr

Then I set some reg keys via GPP to set the picture to a photo of our school I photoshopped to make snowy

Then set the screensaver to C:\Windows\kssnow.scr with a 5min timeout via GPO.

If you want the reg key to be able to change the picture:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ksSnow]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ksSnow\Settings]

"snowCount"="5000"

"scene"="custom"

"sceneimg"="\\\\servername\\netlogon\\Wallpapers\\Christmas.bmp"

Just make sure it's a .bmp file in the right resolution (or as near as - it will stretch it :))

Just to show off, here's our normal wallpapers:

and here's the Christmas one I used for the screensaver background:

The students are all on Windows 7, but this does also work on the admin team's XP machines, if that helps!

No it was the Windows 7 clients I was looking to clarify. I am sure that I read on the forum someone was having problems deploying a screensaver to Windows 7 stations.
