Hi all,

Any recommendations for a natively 'AirPrint' enabled printer. We need it to support our iPads in school.

Reasons behind the recommendations would be great! Thanks guys.

Not to sound rude... But this is something you should have sorted before you got the iPads.

We use Fingerprint Software by Collobos FingerPrint - Collobos Software

Lets you use any exisitng network printer with AirPrint!

(Just looked - £13.69 is not bad, at least cheaper than a new printer!)

Does the ios device have to directly connect to the mac/pc running the fingerprint sofare though?

Tried FingerPrint - Collobos Software, but was a pain to install as the program seems to need to contact external servers via the internet to authenticate the initial installation. Didn't seem to work though the schools proxy.

I did manage to bodge it via some registry editing, but then it randomly stopped working.

In the end I just through a CUPS server (Gordon Turner » Blog Archive » AirPrint on Linux for iOS6) up to serve the printers to the iPads.

I installed fingerprint last week and it works but the main issue I've got with it is that all print jobs are sent as the server it's installed on which is no good in a manager ala pcounter environment.
