Very large area this covers i know but we need to improve our registration procedure as it's not working as it is. At present all staff are ment to email their attendance to our receptionist who then imputs the data onto our admin package, no not sims.net it's PASS4Windows. This isn't happening either because staff are lazy and dont send or just dont want to use a pc or too "busy" so need to improve it.

The obvious answer is to give all staff access to the admin package in their rooms but due to the cost this isn't an option. Just wondering how other schools do it as it's always been a sticking point to get the info in a central place.

We tried email for that and it was a total disaster - we ran it alongside manual registration forms and it was a huge job to collate.

Moving to a proper solution wasn't an option for us too because of cost - the school found the money somehow tho' - £8K for SIMS Lesson Monitor and that solved the problem.

You need to get your SLT to back you on this and enforce what you want done, if they don't then the staff will just take the P**s.

If then the staff don't comply they have to be dealt with by SLT/Head and this will make them think twice about not doing it.

I do agree with others though and a better solution is needed, but like so many others money is a problem. Email is a option to do what your doing but you need to get full backing from the head to enforce this.
