I can't recommended them as I'm just getting some quotes at the moment, and have not used them before, but I'm sure someone on here has... Ric, me, Dos_Box too I think..

We offer the same system, with Windows XP Pro for £240.00 with the slim-line desktop. Its a 3 year, not 4 year warranty but still - an extra £80 for the NEC name and an extra years warranty seems a lot in my opinion Just thought you'd like to know so you can get the best deal out of your current supplier

I know it's cheapest to call them (we use Dell alot), but the best I can get it to on the web, with the spec you list is £699 (ex vat). I can't see the schools team knocking off that much?

leon Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Actually -Ive just this second got a quote back from the school team for a similarly specced 745 desktop -£314 (minus floppy/optical drives). Which is *mucho* less than the site quotes. So I reckon you're spot on Sysman. It would be nice if Dell's Public Sector Site provided accurate quotes!

For TFT we went with HP LP1965 at £122.50 (+ £40 cash back) we got them from insight. Thanks for everyone help & advice, & yes we would recommend this PC & screen especially at these prices. Next job... what is the best price i can get for a HP Laptop (RH686EA#ABU)

mrforgetful Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I feel that that new range of HPs are not as robust as the old range, the new all black fluted fronts look naff comapired to the black / silver older range IMHO that is. Also the 2000 series is not that brill, if your budget will stretch a bit try getting something in the 5000 range as I was once told that HP have no care or thought with the 2000 range and just make them as cheap and nasty as possible. Just had a 5700 delivered (for some more heavy duty number crunching than classroom use) and I'm not sure I like the cases as much. If you look through the slats on the front you can see right in the PC on the 5700, on the 2300 you can't it's much more solid.

Not a single fault in a year, will be getting mor of that kind of thing soon, we also had major problems with the Dell GX270's and their video cards/motherboards... The HP business desktop DC7800's have been superseeded by the DC7900's now which are actually less than you can find the dc7800's for now. The 3 year warranties are cheap (if not inclusive!) too..
