Dos_Box Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 .....Possibly: BBC News - Jet stream changes may give Britain 'a real summer' Lets hope so. Less than 2 weeks to go until Kendal Calling
X-13 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Lies. England doesn't have a hot/sunny season. It goes: cold, rain, cold with rain, snow, GOTO 1 2
Dos_Box Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Was it the 'Hoff' or Shatner on HiGNFY who said 'What is it with this country, you get 2 winters!'
X-13 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Was it the 'Hoff' or Shatner on HiGNFY who said 'What is it with this country, you get 2 winters!' [fictional someone] “When's England's rainy season?” Bill Bailey: “Well, that started around the 4th Century AD and has been going on ever since.”
K.C.Leblanc Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Oh goody, I'm going to be at Womad for a week. I would prefer it if the mud only came up to my ankles.
HarryMonkey Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I'm off diving off the Lundy coast. It would be nice if we didn't have to go from Ilfracombe to Lundy in a force 7 (again).
SteveT Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 ..... Less than 2 weeks to go until Kendal Calling Hmmm ....... should be called "Nowhere-near-Kendal Calling" as it's almost in Penrith!!!!! Try to catch the Travelling Band ...... Main Stage at 12 on the Saturday.
elsiegee40 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 We've had summer today. Bright sunshine to greet the Olympic Torch and Dame Kelly Holmes as the flame called into Tonbridge It wasn't the torch relay, but a stop arranged at the last minute after local resident, Dame Kelly, kicked up a fuss! The banners only went up yesterday.
jinnantonnixx Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) On clear day, if I go upstairs and stand by the window, I can see my wardrobe. Today, sadly, the visibility isn't as good. I've lowered my expectations to the point where a 'nice day' is a day on which it isn't raining very heavily. Edited July 17, 2012 by jinnantonnixx 1

Can I suggest Specsavers? 1
jinnantonnixx Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) It was just a parody of "On a clear day I can see forever" to show how grim the weather is. Sometimes obscure things don't transfer well (especially from my imagination). As you were. We shall speak no more of this incident Edited July 17, 2012 by jinnantonnixx

DT2 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I'm actually enjoying the rain.... Albeit not the British rain you guys are enduring. It's been 30 degrees + for the last few weeks in New Brunswick, and it's just started raining here, bliss. Mind you, it's still 26 degrees with the rain. I'm enjoying it because I know it won't last... But rest assured come winter I'll be freezing my wee dangleberries off.. DT
twin--turbo Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Off to Wales with the Trailer tent on Saturday... So fine dry weather is a bonus. And it will give my Chilli , tomato, peper and pee plants a boost!!! NB... 73 Chilli/Pepper plants and counting... I am hedging by bets to get a reasonbable crop. Unfortunatly I lost track of what plant is what so I need to be careful of the scotch bonnets Rob Edited July 17, 2012 by twin--turbo
