RabbieBurns Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 took the leap and installed it on my desktop. Preparing for the first crash..
RabbieBurns Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 note liking the CAPSLOCK all over the place, buttons etc. And on a 24" screen there is so much white space..
Arthur Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 The non-cloud streaming version is available from TechNet/MSDN. http://i.imgur.com/4VYPU.png 1
Zoom7000 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I'm trying to install Office 365 using the Click to Run installer and it's just sitting there at "0% - Configuring..." and then it just fails saying couldn't install - without giving any error messages! Any ideas what I can do to get it to install? Running Windows 7 x64 with Office 2010 x86.
Arthur Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Try either of these download links... x86: professionalplus_en-us_x86.exe x64: professionalplus_en-us_x64.exe Edited July 17, 2012 by Arthur

So I guess there is somthing about the proxy is didnt like or something is getting blocked somwhere down the line for us. Did get it to install on another laptop in school using the exe download from technet though and that went fine.
Michael Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 So how does it compare to Office 2010? Any real improvement? From the screenshots I've seen, it looks the same from a distance. I presume also the file format is exactly the same?

HMCTech Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I don't like the blue of Outlook now. Wish it could be changed.
dhoward_westexetc Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) Be warned - don't use the Empty deleted items function in Outlook 2013. Both my colleague and I did so and it deleted the entire mailbox, including custom folders, contacts, calendar, tasks, the whole lot! Luckily I managed to get the emails back through the Outlook 2010 install on my primary desktop, and so I lost no emails, but lost all my contacts list. Had to start again on a new mailbox because I could not send emails either! Took me ages to get my mailbox sorted after this. We sent feedback to Microsoft, I will stick with Office 2010 myself until they fix the bug. There is a thread here: Outlok 2013 - Empty Deleted Items deletes everything from mailbox? Michael Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 It's a bit worrying something so simple as emptying the recycle bin wasn't spotted. I get the impression Microsoft (at times) seem to focus on security more than anything else these days. Just as well it's not the real RTM.
EduTech Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Microsoft Lync 2013 is the baby I have been waiting to have a look at! ;-) Very Nice Indeed!.. James.
Dave84 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 The interface is far too white for me. I really do hope we get the option back to change the colour scheme as this new white metro look is awful.
jonatkinson Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Had it on my core desktop and laptop since it came out last week, and liking it so far. Im a heavy Outlook user, connected to 3 Exchange servers and couple of POP accounts. Am getting used to it, but there is a lot of empty space when used on big monitors. Not had any stability issues yet.. Only problem i have so far is that when you open and save documents, it wants to save everything to Skydrive, and not default to My Documents or any other folder.. Find it a little annoying having to change it everytime.
rad Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Just downloaded it onto Laptop... watching with interest, first impressions, it looks basic and like 2010, I'll see how I get on.
Gatt Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Installed it under my Windows 8 test environment and really not liking the CAPSLOCK or Brilliant White emulsion look at all.. Only really used Outlook so far for my POP account and so far not seeing anything different.. Oh and they aren't even proper Metro Tiles! They look the same as Office 2010 but with the new icons..
RabbieBurns Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 mine is now asking for activation... is there a new serial number or an update or something as this is bugging me
