I commented the other day how Ironic it was that Google had really pushed for for open video standards instead of h.264 but Apple and MS were really opposed to it. MS infringe on the patent, Motorola sue then Google buys Motorola. Now MS want h.264 licensed under FRAND, it would be nice if we could see them license more of their own tech under non-non-discriminatory licenses.

I cant be the only one that thinks all this endless patent battling is gone way past the point of ridiculous now, I actually think worse of these companies for acting in this manner. Does make open source seem so much more attractive than the alternatives.

What I can't understand with this is that the injunction was through German courts, yet a US court have forced Motorola not to enforce the injunction until they've looked at it!

Yeah I don't really get it either.

The injunction that MS won in the US and its effect on the German case is explained here: FOSS Patents: Microsoft wins in U.S. court, prevents Motorola from near-term enforcement of forthcoming German ruling

Still don't really get it though :p
