Free Cloud Storage

Does anyone know of a free (or cheap) cloud storage option that doesn't involve downloading/installing a client and lets anyone you invite create folders and upload files?

 

Looking for a way for people to upload photos taken at an event, but they'll never do it if it's more complex than going to a website and following simple instructions. I guess that if the worst came to the worst I could create one account and then hand out the log in details, but that doesn't sit right.

AFAIK the first requires a WL login, and the others seem primarily aimed at showing off your pics rather than collecting in pics (could be wrong).

This seemed like the ideal solution, but sharing folders requires the other party to hand over details.

Box looked like a clear winner, but I didn't fancy handing over the keys to 50GB of space to everyone or expecting them to fill in their details (even though they could just make them up) to upload stuff. My seemingly unlimited Virgin storage would have meant handing over my details to everyone, or would have been even better. I also flirted with Memopal, which ticked all the boxes but only allowed "guests" to upload 1 file at a time. At the moment the favourite is Minus.com - fairly straight forward for the technically-challenged and the "guests" seem to be able to make up their own usernames without handing over any details.

Does joomla or a CMS system allow something like you are after ?

 

Maybe a good excuse to re do the school website using a CMS system then you can do this in a secure area of the website that is not public unless that is what they were after ?

Far too complex for me! (Plus it was for wedding photos, so probably best not to use the school's facilities).

Cheers for that. Shame they don't make it more obvious in their literature.

 

Having tested Minus.com, I think that's the service I'll use: No client needed (they do provide clients, but they don't seem to make them almost mandatory), no need to hand over details and gives 10GB free. Plus it looks easy for the non-technically minded to use.
