Nvidia want cheaper Nvidia powered tablets

I wonder if they realised they cannot compete at the high end and to a lesser extent the mid end, so have covered that fact by moving Tegra 3 into the low end. It’s a shame as if not for the weak GPU Tegra would be a decent chip.

 

All these tablets moving to super high res must be a real problem for Tegra. Which is really surpassing as you would expect a graphics company’ to have decent graphics and average to low CPU. Not poor graphics and great CPU.

Meh, whatever they cost there they will still be $700+ here. Tablets are just not cost effective here.

 

At any rate I too am suprised if nvidia is having GPU horsepower problems. If they do it's probably to do with the power envelope which has never been nvidias strong suite. It's ashame AMD has not branched out to ARM, they may have tech more suited to the environment.

Maybe just me but I think Nvidia are only good in the gaming desktop area - as said cards have sufficient cooling vs a tablet or laptop where the nvidia cards over heat and die quicker then other makes of card ie ATI / AMD etc

I belive AMD is already on the way to thinking about ARM - AMD Eyes ARM Alliance in War on Intel | Wired Enterprise | Wired.com
